April 19, 201214 yr Heck of an outing from Bronson. Just what they needed, now let Marshall do what you're paying him for. Hard to believe we are talking about Arroyo as a losing streak stopper. He has looked pretty good so far and is doing it with a minimal number of pitches. Maybe his health did hold him back last year and we can get a bounce back season from him.

If your stats are accurate for the last (2) years then I'll retract the horrible part and you are right that it is too early to make any judgment for this year.

April 19, 201214 yr You missed one somewhere. It's 93 according to baseball reference. The Brewers scored 4 or less in 90 games. Cardinals were at 84. So I would say they are pretty good in situational hitting. Hopefully these two posts debunk the opinions that the Reds offense was not as good as runs scored indicate. Obviously the Reds offense has been very good the past two years. Can we put that whole "runs scored fallacy" argument to rest?

I am going to assume the stats are right. So let's agree that the Reds offense isn't over rated, that the runs scored stats is not misleading nor has the offense been the problem the past couple of years. Then we can move on to debate why the Reds did not make the playoffs. The obvious point to make though is that the offense for the Brewers and Cardinals was just as good as the Reds.
