April 19, 201214 yr The most misleading statistic there is. Agree, we can argue this till the cows come home. Large run games blow the Red's runs/game numbers sky high. Where the Reds lack sorely is in situational hitting. Imo they have been horrible the last 4 years in this category. They aren't good with hit and run and we all know that they have some high strikeout guys. Maybe a change would be good. Do the Reds have anyone in the organization that might help with this? If so you'd like to think that some of these guys got good instruction before now.
April 19, 201214 yr Phillips in lineup, despite hamstring | Cincinnati Reds “There’s always concern,” Dusty Baker said. “That’s why we put him down in the lineup. I don’t know anybody that hasn’t played with a hammy or a quad. The only other option is to put him on the DL, and you still don’t know when. “That’s the thing about baseball: Once you hurt something, it stays hurt a long time. You don’t have a week to recoup. Yeah, there’s concern. That’s why I told him to play smart. No sudden stops or starts. If you’re out on a double play, you’re out. “If they boo, they boo. If they boo you for not hustling, don’t worry about it because you want to play another day.”

So I would say they are pretty good in situational hitting.
April 19, 201214 yr Cozart with a first pitch self defense swing ground out to first to start this one. How we lookin?
April 19, 201214 yr Wainwright is dealing....I expect the Reds to get shutout today. Ludwick and Stubbs got a hit.
