A few days but I dont think he showed up until he had clearance. I think his tim was time in helmet that is required beforebfull pads. This may be the case here as well. Not sure if the new kid need clearance or not. He never attended school or played a snap.

I would imagine this is a rare case so not sure how it is handled.

I have to believe a big part of the exception relates to the school the player is transferring to. So when he received his exception, it would be to NCC and not HC. However, the KHSAA has become much more lenient in these cases over the past couple years so it remains to be seen how they will handle this.

He played varsity in AZ. I think that still comes into play. Not sure what the impact of a school in between has on the situation.

Trying to say is if you have these transfer issues with Trinity, X, Beechwood, Holy Cross, Newcath, or Highlands. The state has got your back!

Lenient? I don't think so. Have more kids been granted eligibility after transfer? Yes. However, I don't attribute that to leniency, but rather to the KHSAA actually wanting to gather all the facts and actually applying the facts to the by laws before they make judgment on eligibility cases. Frankly, the removal of the Board of Control from the process greatly improved the fairness of the decisions being rendered by the KHSAA. Maybe I'm just playing semantics to some, but I feel it's really important to make sure the wrong perception isn't out there. More kids are being granted eligibility not because the KHSAA is going soft on transfers; more kids are being granted eligibility because the KHSAA is actually digging into the facts before they make a decision. I'm disappointed to have to state that wasn't the case a few years back. I strongly commend Tackett for the direction he's lead the KHSAA on the eligibility process.

Good perspective LN. For me, it appears more lenient but that is based on the scarce, surface level facts that we see in these cases. Perhaps the KHSAA shouldn't share information publicly in these rulings but that cloak of cover is what causes misperception. And with that, I too will move from this topic in this thread. Sorry for the interruption HC fans.
