bigstick23 Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 NCC was in control of the game all night. Kineran might of only had 5 points but NCC was not missing from 20 feet. They Built there lead up 51-34 when Carr cleaned house. But in 4 subs mainly Castleman and Zimmerman. Castleman had 5 inculding a 3 that sparked an eagle run. Zimmerman was a monster underneath but when push came to shove the eagles road Sharp who hit a buzzer beating floater as the buzzer went off to give the eagles the win. Both teams couldn't by a foul shot and NCC through 3 quarters might of went 12-13 from three, im sure the missed more but it didnt seem like it at all. Howard was the more effective of the big guys but both had sub-par games. Great win for the eagles to make them 9-3. NCC should have won though.

Just talked to a friend who was at the game, and he told me NCC was indeed on fire, but to Scott's credit they hung in and fought back in the 4th. NCC was still up 13 beginning the 4th, but the wheels kinda came off and they apparently didn't handle the press very well. Had a couple chances to put it away late, but missed the front end of two 1 & 1's, including one at 5.2 seconds with NCC up one. Sharp got the miss and went the length of the court to hit the running bank shot at the buzzer. Sounds like a great game!!

I'm probably mistaken but Kiernan was no presence what so ever. Howard had 10-14 points. Sharp was the key to Scotts win. He hit the game winner but he carried the team down the strech in the final 3-5 minutes. Bench was a big part of the begining of the run. Scott looks to have some depth.

I will agree that Scott's bench provided a lift in the second half. Castleman had 5 points and was the only one who scored off the bench for Scott. He will be getting more playing time as the season goes along. Scott's bench still needs to work on providing more stability and consistency in order for Scott to be successful this year..

Scott looks to have some depth. Kiernan actually probably had 8-10 points for the game. Luke Heil was on fire early for NCC and the breds just stayed hot. Scott looked flat out of the gate it looked like they were going through the motions. The guards werent pushing the ball, they couldnt guard anyone. Second half Scott turned up the tempo and finally played they way they need to play to be sucessful. Cassleman hit a lay up and a three to get the Eagle rolling. Then McCord hit a pair of tripples..Howard gets a couple of buckets...Sharpe hits a big three and then the next thing you know we were tied. New Cath turned the ball over at least 10 times in the fourth quarter. The breds also missed four free throws in the final minute and a half. Buzzer beater win for the eagles and it was a good win

In my opinion Kiernan is a much better player than Howard. He has only been in the gym for a total of 7 practices. By the end of January he will be a much better player.
