I suppose you could dream up anything you want. He definitely got some words messed up, but no way at all is there proof that he was going to say that. It just boils down to this...if anyone has a predetermined idea about someone, they are going to look for anything they can to support and amplify their predetermined idea. In other words, they are going to use a microscope and look for anything negative, while ignoring anything positive. Sad.

Kind of like when many people said Obama was a muslim when he fumbled his words and said the 57 states.

Like I said, some see what they want to see.

So what was he going to say then? After giving a description of Barack Obama, what word that starts with an N is something he mumbles and never says clearly and then goes off on a completely different tangent to finish the sentence? This isn't the first time there has been an issue with Santorum and race so yeah, that's exactly what I think he was getting ready to say. For argument's sake I definitely think it is possible he was going to say it but it isn't clear so who knows? Humor me though. You seem convinced he wasn't going to say it. Even going so far as to saying it is sad people have a predetermined idea about people? He created his predetermined persona in Iowa.

So tell me....what was he going to say?

You say people are looking for a negative instead of a positive when the guy is negative campaigning. That's an oxymoron.

I also seem to recall that Obama got hammered for saying 57 states and people still think he is muslim. Ricky's not going to get a pass from me. No sir.

The same thing applies to you that you are saying about those of us who think he was getting ready to say the N word......people see what they want to see and people also like to deny what they see and hear as well.

So what should we be seeing or hearing?

Just what he said? There is no way you can tell me he was about to utter what you think he was about to. I'm no Santorum fan, but come on, I can't possibly tell you what he was about to say nor can you. If this had been Obama giving a description of Santorum and stumbled but the word sounded like it began with a C, you and everyone else would be saying just what I've said.

Not just an N but he got 'NIG'. I'm not saying he was going there but it's real hard to dispute. And I don't have any predetermined ideas about Santorum, and I'm really don't like President Obama.

No possible way anyone knows that is what he was going to say. You've never started to something that sounded one way but was nothing like it started to sound like? I know I have, I know most people I've talked with at any length over the years have.

Naw, I'd tell you of he was going to say it.

It'd be too obvious. No denying that.

For me it's more about what else could he have been trying to say. Which Is why I labeled it a brain fart. I think he truly had a brain fart for a brief second.

I don't know what he was trying to say, if it was the N-word then that is deplorable. I've listened to it 30 times and it sounds more like nick than nig. Still doesn't explain where he was going or trying to say but I heard a "ck" sound not a "g" sound.

I think these guys give hundreds of speeches and are zombies on the trail. His tongue got tied up and he said "n..." If that screams racism we are all in trouble. He probably does not even remember giving the speech.

I agree which is why I'm not saying that's what he was going to say. I'm just saying it's what it sounded like he was going to say. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt because I know how many speeches these guys give.

Depends on what the "n..." was supposed to be as to whether or not it screams racism. His track record with race is what causes the pause to make you say hmmmmm....

Thanks, Captain :lol::D j/k

I am not sure I have seen enough to think he is a racist.
