How so? As soon as it was brought to light about his comments from 2008 being awful he apologized. Is it his fault that it took 4 years for outcry?

I doubt Obama's call to Fluke was sincere as well but the public demands political correctness at every turn.

 

Limbaugh and Maher were more sorry about the fuss it caused. Not exactly what they said. I know I said Maher's apology was sincere. I should have said he apologized and wasn't a smart aleck about it. I'd say privately they both stand by their original statements.

So I assume that since now children of "enemies" are OK when the conservatives start calling Chelsea Clinton a homely bucktoothed woman with bad hair and no personality who was conceived totally as a political asset that no one on here will be up in arms?

 

And before you say it when Hillary was running she was on the campaign trail speaking for her mother and then refused to speak to reporters. She has also inserted herself into the debate.

PP82, I agree that he shouldn't have called Fluke. And if he hadn't called Fluke this wouldn't even be a thread. However since he did call Fluke I think he has to do the same for Bristol. No matter who she is or what she or her mom may have said he is still their President. He can't pick and choose what citizens to support.

Certainly, he can choose. Fluke was speaking on an issue that was part of HIS healthcare plan. That makes him connected to the issue, not just responding to some asinine random comment/joke. There is a big difference.

 

BTW...why is Bristol asking for the apology? Shouldn't it be Willow? Sarah made a big deal out of the Letterman "Top 10" comment of "A-Rod knocking up her daughter during the 7th inning stretch." However, it was 14 year old Willow with Sarah, not Bristol (though I doubt that the joke writers knew that...old debate). Palin called Letterman a pedophile, etc. It seems as though the Palins would like to have it both ways. It was Willow then, as they could cause an uproar over that, now oddly, Letterman must have been referring to Bristol, so she can cause an uproar over this.

I completely disagree. IMO, it doesn't matter what Fluke was talking about.

 

This is the very reason the President shouldn't get involved in petty crap like this. He made it political and now has some egg on his face. The POTUS hasn't done much that I have agreed with and I would tell him as much if I had the chance. That doesn't mean he is just as much my President as his biggest supporter.

He got into petty crap when he had the black professor and police officer over for a beer for a teachable moment. When the polcie officer was only doing his job, caught on camera of him doing nothing wrong but arresting a mad and unruley proffesor.

I wouldn't be. I don't care what Fluke was called. I don't care what Bristol was called. I used to laugh at all the Chelsea Clinton jokes also. I am not politically correct and never will be. Follow me on twitter and you'll see for yourself. @thadopeja
