Her 15 minutes of fame like that of her Mother's should have been up 3 and a half years ago and Miss Fluke's should be up now .

 

This thing was a set up from the beginning. The political drama to manufacture headlines is just getting sickening. A 30 year old 'co-ed'? With apologies to Bluto - '12 years of college down the drain..." apparently. She was and is an activist.

Limbaugh apologized - twice. Maher - not so much.

 

Government mandated health insurance - what could go wrong? Now we know - it tramples religious beliefs - and no one apologizes for this lack of separation of church and state. And when they collide - apparently government wins. As the 15 minutes of echoes fade - that is the key point of this whole episode.

As BGC said previously it was a mistake for President Obama to comment on Rush. He shouldnt compound it for speaking out against a joke.

 

 

Well Obama could use this as a teachable moment, that jokes or not, it isn't right to talk about women or girls in that manner.

Well the fact still remains, President Obama did not afford the same "courtesy" to Bristol Palin as he did to Sandra Fluke - and furthermore, he's accepting a LARGE chunk of change from someone who hurled an insult that was just about as nasty as the one Obama was offering his "apology for".

 

Come on...how many people really think President Obama really gives two flips about Sandra Fluke? It was an opportunity to make good press for himself.

No. It's called Priorities USA. Super PACs are not legally allowed to coordinate with parties or candidates. There's a debate as to whether a candidate can communicate informally through the media -- perhaps the president could hint that it might be appropriate to return the money. But this may also be improper and result in a violation of current election law for both the candidate and the PAC.

I would expect that were it a genuine sentiment of "guilt as a fellow man", he should have offered the same apology.

If you don't think it's similar than there's no use even trying to discuss it. Maher is a major contributor to the President's re-election campaign. That makes it something that he should speak out against.

 

So he should call Bristol Palin to prove he speaks out against it? I don't think so. I wouldn't call my enemies. Would it be a good gesture on his part? Sure? Ultimately what would it change? Not a thing.

Exactly. If he called Bristol Palin now it would appear as hollow and self serving as his reaching out to Fluke was.

Bill Maher did apologize. I watched it live on his show and it was a sincere apology.

Didn't affect me either way. I could not care less if he apologized to her or not. He shouldn't have. Because now he has to apologize to every woman who has been spoken wrong to. He should probably call Jan Brewer and apologize to her for all of the things comedians(including Bill Maher) said about her also.
