Sam Elsbernd is the new coach at Holmes

Yea, Bring back the striped warmup pants, and run the "Bulldog Weave" drill that used to accompany them. I still know it should you need a refresher. -

I am happy for Sam as are the members of the Brossart Basketball Program who had the privilege of having Coach Elsbernd on our staff during his "transitional" year. I too, know how bad that he wanted this job and I know that he will do his best to make it work. Best of luck moving forward to Coach Sam and the Holmes Bulldogs. -
Giving credit where due, Greene must have been pretty good tonight. Now we need some consistency from him. I am not a fan, but if he wants to show me up that would be OK too.

I will speculate that pictures may begin showing up on Facebook of Puck, Ivan Rice, and Coach Brooks together, attired in Paris orange, traveling together to some sport venue, and maybe stopping for a plate of wings on the way home.

Same old, same old with Diaz. Four pitch walks, walks issued to two pf the first three to face him, and then a hit batter. He was lucky to dig himself, or someone else dig him out of these situations over and over again last y3ear. Not a fan. My man Hunter Greene is being exposed - again. 100 pitches in 5 innings and did not start Opening Day which says they didn't want him to get shelled right out of the gate They will let him get knocked around for a few games and then he will end up on some disabled list and use the injury card the rest of the way out. Blown First Round draft choice.

So what you are saying is "The right of first refusal."

Another Note From the KHSAA Boys Sweet 16
Mustang replied to brentbbs's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
There was a time when "Transy Camp" was the only major, recognized team and individual camp in Kentucky. Any player worth his salt attended "Transy Camp." I suspect that Coach Lane made more money by running that camp for all of those years than he ever did coaching at Transy. -
Really sorry to see this. Cheeseman brought stability, success, and personality to a success-starved program.

This year's Brossart team has been plagued by our past success. We play the NKAC DivIi schedule which we have not been able to be competitive. We did not get back some of the football players we were expecting, and in the final weeks of the season, lost Ben Doyle, our floor general, to an ankle injury. Looking at the three teams that we did beat Villa, Calvary, and Bracken, they are playing lesser schedules and all have double-digit wins. With no seniors, hopefully this season will provide the experience needed to set up a "rebound season" in 24-25. We played NCC to 35-33 at halftime, and then promptly tied the score at 35-35 to start the second half. Things went downhill from there as NCC went on a 21-0 run and that was that.

This was only the second time that Villa and Holmes have played. The previous time was in December of 2009, when the Bulldogs prevailed 59-36. Looks like the Villa AD bided his time and picked the proper spot to get revenge.

I was somewhat expecting to see a post of this ilk when Bracken County defeated Holmes by nearly 30 points recently. I remember when Holmes dropped down from NKAC Division I to Division II. Everyone raised eyebrows at that time. Holmes seemed to be a powerhouse at that time, but the Holmes administration must have seen this decent coming. It has taken quite a while to come to this stage, but during their stint in Division Ii, I don't ever remember them being a dominant force. I could be wrong.
