God knows we wouldn't want to "lose the clubhouse." We've been above .500 one day, and .500 only two days in the past two seasons to date. What's to lose??? Games, Fans, Sponsors??? I believe that if David Bell lasts five years, he will look back on this season, realize that he let his "players coach" demeanor, and cyber-metrics cause him to be an inferior manager. I also think that in five years he will have gotten back to managing the...

It's about accountability. There has been none since and including Dusty. Is the players union at fault??? Are you not allowed to yank a guy who makes boneheaded plays because they are protected???? Night after night this team has players who shoot themselves and this team in the foot - repeatedly. Why is that???? Over and again Mr. Me, Me, Me - Puig has shown off his arm, trying to make a big play, at the expense of the team, yet...

All season Votto has displayed evidence of serious burn out. Season after season of frustration will do that to you.

No, there is no accountability or pride. Some weeks ago, I posted to let Mac Whitaker coach them for a week and the ship would be righted. I'll say it again. Cincinnati has a history (at least back through Dusty) of having milk toast managers. David Bell has exemplified over and over again a "Get em next time attitude." Don't think we would be seeing this if "Sweet Lou" was still in charge. Embarrassing. There is no fear of...

Earlier this week news broke that Mason Rusch, the outstanding, high-scoring guard from Calvary Christian will be moving to the Carolinas to be with his family as his dad transfers for his work. Rusch, who has been a standout for the Cougars varsity since his 8th Grade year, scored 741 points while averaging 25.6ppg last year. For his efforts Rusch was named 2nd Team - All Region - 10th Region. Mason is an exceptional young man, who, true...

I actually remember Jared the basketball player, moreso than the football quarterback. I can visualize him coming out of a game, having a seat on the bench, leaning forward with sweat dripping from his forehead and off of his chin, staring straight ahead. Grabbing a towel from a teammate or manager and giving his face a quick swipe. Patting a teammate as he walked past, and then focusing completely on the action taking place in front of...

So sorry to hear of your dad's passing. My dad passed away a few weeks back at the age of 97, but was still mentally sharp as a tack. I guess we thought he was going to live forever. Agree with spending time with them while you still can, because there is a distinct void in your life when they are gone.

I'm curious how long some of these guys would play for Mac Whitaker??? Several would be pulled in the middle of an inning. I'm sure it would be viewed as showing up the player, BUT it would certainly get the point across. This isn't a one time thing. It happens on a daily basis. Doesn't seem to be a lot of accountability in the clubhouse.

I think it is time we parted ways with Mr. Puig. This guy is a loose cannon who is out of control. Everything, including striking out on creditable pitches, is about him. Every night its the same thing with him. Me! Me! Me! Hit the road Jack, and don'tcha come back.

I suspect that the lateness of this report somewhat reflects my enthusiasm about reporting on this particular trip. Bill Hagedorn, my primary fishing partner and I departed Northern Kentucky on May 8th and stayed overnight at the Soo, and then an extra day due to incredibly rotten weather on the 9th. We arrived at the Blue Heron Resort in Spanish on the 10th and began fishing later that day. For the second straight year snow was still on...
