Reed Shepherd Declares for the NBA Draft
Voice of Reason replied to mcpapa's topic in College Basketball
Not surprised. I said several times during this season that Sheppard is a much better athlete than people realize. He made some plays during the season that really opened my eyes on his physical talent. -
I am amazed at Hunter and Venus not playing their idols. Tiff I understand because she wasn't expecting any votes on her. Hunter and Venus both knew they were getting votes. Hunter knew it was one vote either way and still did not play his idol. If I knew I was getting votes, there is zero doubt I would play my idol. Then when I got back to camp, first thing the next morning I would be idol searching to get it back.

This season has certainly taken an ugly turn. -
Open Job: Danville Christian Academy
Voice of Reason replied to QueenoftheSouth's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I have a good friend who coached a long time. He told me one of his hopes for every season was to know as few parents of his players as possible. Another long time coach held a team meeting with players and parents at the start of the season. He told everyone there if there were any questions or issues, he did not want to hear from a parent. He wanted the player to come talk to him. -
LeBron, Bronny, and Breadcrumbs
Voice of Reason replied to bugatti's topic in National Basketball Association (NBA)
Here is a conspiracy theory. Bronny tanks in the combine to eliminate any chance he is drafted, then signs as free agent with the Lakers. -
2024 NBA Draft Lottery
Voice of Reason replied to 16thBBall Fan's topic in National Basketball Association (NBA)
Checked out some mock drafts post lottery. Sheppard and Dillingham are top ten picks. Justin Edwards is mid second round. Antonio Reeves was out of one mock draft and at the very end in a couple others. -
Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) in Kentucky
Voice of Reason replied to Kentucky Windage's topic in Weather
This is the result of a major solar storm from the sun that has created a geomagnetic storm here on Earth. Should continue through the weekend. -
I see 10 as the right number of scholarship players. If you get a couple loyal in state recruits like Perry and Noah who you expect to be on your roster for at least 2 or 3 years, you could go to 12. Add in 2-3 walk ons for practice purposes. For Cal though, who doesn't really care about having the in state players, 10 is probably the right number.

The one that I see as impactful is missing ten days of practice time to put in your system.

Transfer portal and NIL’s effects on mid-majors
Voice of Reason replied to The Professor's topic in College Basketball
The mid majors are all just minor league proving grounds now. -
There's that "late" comment in another coach change thread. What makes the timing "not a good thing"?
-
Yes, correct, you probably read that in my post here on BGP. There were only 3 freshmen starting in the elite 8 with 2 of them on Duke. And I would argue Duke wouldn't have been in the elite 8 if Houston's Jamal Shead didn't get injured.

Does Hatchell want the principal job? Maybe he would prefer assistant Principal and football head coach?
