Montgomery could not get their free throws to fall either. It just wasn't their night. Congrats on a great season. On Maggies ankle I was listening to the pregame show on the radio with the coach and she said Maggie Would never show it if it was hurting, she has so much heart. She has not practiced full speed I think the coach said for like three weeks. She has been just shooting the ball at practice but not running plays. Maggie would have played if you had to carry her out there on a stretcher. She is one tough young lady and where ever she goes to play they are getting not only a good ball player but a very nice young lady. She has made Montgomery County very proud.I just wish they could have went all the way. Franklin Simpson was a quick team but Montgomery missed way too many easy shots. It just wasn't meant to be.Good luck Maggie

Montgomery should win the 10th. Then I think they will be able to win against the 11th on a neutral site. Just my opinion

You are correct she has improved alot and is a good pitcher. Paris will be more competative this year I'm sure. I 'm ready for it to start.

Who did she sign with? I heard Chambers has a problem with breathing (asthma) maybe that was a reason I don't know. I watched her play several times against 1oth region teams and she is very good. But she gets alittle winded. That is the only thing i saw

I also need to add to the mix Erin Charles who has been throwing the ball great. They also have an 8th grader coming up Emily White who is lookig very good also. the future does look good for Montgomery County

What does anyone think about Maggie Prewitt from Montgomery County. She is a terrific player and very unselfish. She might not have all the numbers that alot of the other girls have but she is a team player and does pass the ball. She does not try to get all the glory like alot of the front runners do. She tries to do what it takes to help her team to win. She gets my vote.

Vernon Bibbs puts on the Blue Chips camp every year. I have never been to it but I here it is real nice. It is in Louisville and last about 4 days. there are several college coaches there. My daughter is always tied up in travel ball.during the time of his camps. He is a pitching instructor and has several college coaches there helping him.

Paige Compton & KK OAKS at Montgomery County Clearly led the pack when it comes to the pitching in the 10th. Paige as a freshman was throwing in the high 50's low 60's so as a sophomore you can only look for improvement. She has had lessons all winter. She stopped playing basketball to focus on softball.The sky is the limit for this young lady if she continues to improve. KK is a senior who has leadership qualities and can lead this team if needed with her accurate pitching. This should be a good rotation for coach Rison this year. If his bats are hot this year this will be a good year for Montgomery County.

How much did Ryle Loose player wise? Allen can't do it all by her self. She is hitable that was proved in the state tournament. You still must have a good catcher to make a good pitcher. If your catcher can't react intime to catch those 60 plus mph fast balls then you will have some passed balls. This will lead to base runners and we all know what that leads to.

Lindsey went to Georgetown but she is not playing any sports.Jenne is doing great she is going to be fine this year she has been conditioning with the team I think?

I watched Kirsten Allen Pitch all those games at the state tournament last year and I must say she is the real deal her arm must be made out of steel. I think Ryle would have maybe done alittle better if she hadn't played so many games. Is she still going to Oklahoma?

I agree with Montgomery #1 mainly due to their pitching. Clark#2, the rest I am not for sure about. Harrison did have coach Philpot helping them at a camp they had a couple months ago.They had Megan Willis of the Texas longhorns at their high school putting on a clinic and it went ok.Harrison will be ok but I was told their pitcher might be out unless the doctor releases her.They only have young pitching which might hurt them but they do have a very good defense and offense.

Montgomery County in the 10th Region looks pretty stong. They have several returning players and I think 6 or 7 seniors.They have a pitcher who is a sophomore Paige Compton who is throwing the ball great with alot of control and great speed,she has alot of junk pitches as well.They have a senior pitcher KK Oaks and a Freshman pitcher Erin Charles who are both looking very good.They went to the state tournament last year and I think they will be there again this year.I don,t know what Scott County has this year they lost a good pitcher in Jordan Blair when she graduated.

It was a good game KK Oaks pitched the first 6 innings and got into a little trouble in the 6th. Paige Compton came in with runners on 1st and 2nd and struck out the next 2 batters.In the 7th Lindsey Rison came in and finished the game. It was alot closer than I thought it would have been too. MC beat them earlier this year 18-4.MC just could not get their bats hot like they have been.It should be a good semi final.

Fastpitch softball camps -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Does anyone know of some high quality camps other than the Blue chips camp? We will be gone during that one and I would be willing to travel from central Ky for the right kind of camps.

I was told this info buy a player on the team. I am sorry if this is not true I assumed (which I probably shouldn't have) that this girl was correct in her statement. She has played for the coach for 3 years so I would like to think that she knew what she was talking about. But Maybe not. I still think she will do a fine job the next 3 years.

She rarely hits a batter. Her balls just barely miss, I think it is her screw ball that tails down and out and it will just miss outside. The umpires sometimes will call it a strike and other times it will be a ball. I think it depends on the catchers position when it is thrown. She loves to keep the ball low and sometimes blue just won't call them low. Most of her pitches miss a little outside.

Kindred coached at Montgomery for a while and was well liked. He did have a little episode where he got made at the team after a tournament and stopped the bus ona bridge and supposedly through a trophey into Ky river. This info came from a bus driver. Janie Robinson got the job because the players signed a petition to get her hired. I was told that a few of the parents with some pull went to the board and said if Coach Robinson was not hired then they would take their kids elsewhere. I personally think it was a mistake.Coach Robinson will quit in 3 years after that class graduates the talent looks bleek and she will bail out on the high school the same way she did the middle school. After that class moved up to high school she went with them. These kids have played together so long they almost don't need a coach,and Coach Robinson knows this. I wish her the best and she is a pretty good coach. I just think Kindred was way ahead of her.

She has a little bit of a control problem.But she still struck out I think around 10 batters tonight. She faced Rowan CO tonight and they had been killing the ball. One of their parents said they had beat a team 15 -0 two nights ago. She shut them down tonight with 1 or 2 hits(which came on her change up). She had walked two batters and one of them scored on a sacrifice fly or they would not have had any runs. She was clocked tonight at 61 and her avg speed was around 58. Montgomery Co has two more pitchers one is a Sr. and the other is a Jr. So she usually comes in around the 5th inning to close the games.
