This would be a great one to see. I don't know about the play on the court but it will be great chess game to watch between these two masterminds of the hardwood. (Steiner and Forrest)

Yea good call Jeanie they are 13-4 and the 4 L's have come against 4 pretty good teams.

Ryle was the better team. They led from the beginning, controlled the game and deserved to win. Anyone who watchede the game should be in agreement with that statement. Nothing said in this post is meant to take anything away from the kids or coaches from Ryle. However, I am giving you facts as I am close enough to the program to be quoting coaches, players and a score keeper. Before the game, Gallatin's coach was told to stay in the coaches box and sit on the bench the entire game before the game ever started - maybe this was said to the Ryle coach as well but but I am not priviledged to know this information, a player was asked how many players was on the Gallatin team by the short referee - the player responded we have 14 or 15 depending on who is injured, the referee threatened to give Gallatin a technical for not answering the question and said they could receive a technical on their coach, the score keeper was threatened with a technical if the book was wrong - Gallatin was not the home book - this does not apply to Gallatin, it is Ryle's responsibility to have the home book. All of these events came from one official. One official made 80% of the calls - that should not happen in a 2 man crew game. The same official called 2 fouls on Carlton when he was 15 feet away from the play. Carlton got the foul on the Maley foul - ZJones and Henson were involved in the play - Carlton was at the free throw line. When a referee acts unprofessional before the game, and then plays go against you, it is difficult to feel as though you got a fair shake. I wish Ryle the best - THEY WERE THE BETTER TEAM, I still think there was a very biased referee involved in the game.

I think that this game was pre-determined by a referee with the power to do that. Gallatin County was threatened with technicals before the game had even started, on more than one occasion, one ref enticed a Gallatin player to say something worthy of a technical, a ref even cussed towards a Gallatin player. I simply don't think this was a fair game! Altough it may look like only a few calls were absolutely terrible and one-sided, these calls came at times when they were simply devastating to Gallatin. For instance, on the "Blarge" play, if Gallatin gets the two points and the free-throw it's a five point game, instead Ryle gets the ball and scores making it a ten point game. This is a situation where one call pretty much sealed the deal for the Raiders, and I think the refs had this type of control over the entire game!!! Again, Ryle won the game, they deserve the win, it's just a shame it wasn't decided by the players.

Whatever, the call was horrible. You must be a ref to come up with that argument. Ryle won the game and the played hard and have a nice young team, but as Mr. Athletics said Gallatin took a royal (typical) 9th region screwing. One of the refs would have been outclassed in a middle school game.

The worst part of the whole call was the referee in the right position, under the basket, called the block, and the referee out of position came in and tried to over rule hime, as a result, neither ref would budge, so they called the double foul, waived off the basket and gave Ryle the ball. After the technical, the game was over. I think Gallatin's coach could have lived with either call if they make one of them, he might not have liked the call, but to over rule the official who was in the right place is absurd. It was an odd ending to a very poorly officiated game. There were two walk calls called while players were dribbling - one on Ryle and one on GC. Congrats to Ryle. They adjusted and won. Good win for them and nothing said against the refs is meant to slight there victory. They were the better team tonight under these circumstances.

Well DAD his theory was wrong, it was horrible for both teams.

Maybe in the ninth but no where else.

A point to ponder: why the same refs for the girls V game and boys V game? I know some of you refs read this stuff so please answer the question. There is no circumstance that should have one set of refs do both games. I will also had that they weren't very good. For example fouls were 9-2(not going to say which team had two) within 2:30 the fouls were 10-9. CC played a tremendous game if they shoot like they did last night they are a good team.

Scotty B. is fine. He could have gone against Newport but I believe the staff felt there were 3 important games coming up this week and next so why rush it. Plus there is an important tourney at the end of the month that they will need everyone healthy for.

I could really careless about that paper, I told Ernst in an e-mail and phone message I would never say that papers name again and never buy one again. Because as long as "The Best Little Weekly in Kentucky"- the The Gallatin co News is covering the cats thats all that matters.
