If this is about the bowl game, it isn't going to happen with the city IMHO. I know a county/county bowl is being looked at with Bell. If this was the big news how is it big for the county. Seems like it would be big news for the city?

Funny, but I was trying to say I agree with you Bayshore and thats scary!

If they were going the route as most has describe and for the reasons listed they should of dropped all district games and not competed in a district for a couple of years. If that would of been the route I could understand but remember they still have the best team in the district on the schedule.

Sounds like your son has it together and that is great. You should be proud of him both on the field and in the classroom. A 30 is something to really be proud of and it is a great score. However, while a distinguished may sound good, it really means nothing in the big picture as far as college and the entire system is really a joke IMHO. You have taken a interest in your child and it shows and that is awsome. More parents need to follow your lead and be parents. Rap about the ACT score all you want to because that is were it is at big guy. Good luck to your son both on and off the field!

Bayshore, If you are serious about coming together as one I think we can add on to the building at Rosspoint to squeeze 300 more students in up there! As far as our sports complex, don't fret for poor ole Harlan County because trust me it will be built and it will be as nice as the school itself! Harlan County will be just fine. Trust Me on this one!

I am all for good news but if a bowl game is your good news for the County, I am not sold that it will happen just yet. If I am wrong about the news, I can't wait and hope it is truly good news! We people in Harlan County could always use some good news!

I do however disagree about where the game is played. A team must be at least 2 TD's better to win at Breathitt or so it seems like that from the past several years. Breathitt will have a solid club no doubt about it and I will go as far as to say Harlan MIGHT FINISH 3 OR EVEN 4TH in the district. Having said that I also wouldn't be surprised if they finished 1st and or second. Like I said A man just never knows!

This game isn't at Halcomb Field, and while I admire and respect the Bobcat's program a lot of people including yourself, just might be surprised. You just never know until the game is over.

No excuse, this was simply a bad choice for not only Harlan Co but all that were involved. However, its over now and we must all do the best with what has been dealt.

You answered that with a coach, I never said I was trying to dispute the word of Bayshore Drive. However, showing interest in a player and being interested in a player is two different things but since you talk to a lot of college coaches I guess you know this already. Ball has the tools to play at Eastern but again it isn't all about tools. I would love to see him play at Eastern because it would only help the kids who come after him. Don't get a complex big guy I never meant anything negative, just asking a question.

While they are at it maybe they can ask for something to be done with these awful gas prices also.

Well you could tell him that Powell Co. isn't the first or the sixth to be in this situation and that the same procedure has been followed for each circumstance like we are seeing with a consolidated school. It has played out the same way every single time and sometimes life can throw you a curve. I am sure ever other team in this situation kind of felt slighted but to my knowledge none of them took the chance to play in the post season away from their kids. JMHO but what do I know?
