Not being rude, but when you get outside Harlan County you will notice the staff of sports programs that do it the right way. Football isn't like it was back in the 70's and 80's when basically the head coach was the only coach on the field. Good programs aren't coached by 3 or 4 guys anymore. Good programs have position coaches for the different positions. For example, on defense you might have a defensive line coach, ends coach, inside linebackers coach, outside linebackers coach, corners coach and finally your secondary coaches. Usually, at least three that will coach the froshmen and another 2 or 3 for the JV. I think comparing this staff to football programs that try to do it right, Harlan County High is on the right path. I am sure Larkey has a plan and responsibility for all of his assistants. If I was guessing I would say he would even use more if he had the opportunity to get them.

My sources are telling me that Jacob will be around when possible helping out anyway he can. I don't understand Dondi not coaching, seems like he has been on the sidelines for years and someone told me he had more time as a player and assistant than anybody with the Cawood program? I have been hearing he might surface as the other coach on the basketball staff. I guess we will have to wait and see but it makes sense.

They had the first practice today. If my information is correct it was a true Coach Jones practice. We will see who wants to play basketball and who are along for the ride. I see this team starting slow but towards tournament time people are going to be surprised.

I can ride a mower with the best of them. However, that job will only last for a year and then I would be out of a job. The new sports complex will be ready by year number 2. The Junior High will take over a very nice playing field out at Hall Jr. High ( Old Cawood high school).

I think most people understand that! I realize how hard that would be and think you did a very good job. We are lucky to have the kind of coverage we get in Harlan County. Can't wait till after the first game to read the write up on the Black Bears. And just think you are a County Grad. lol

PapDaddy, I was wondering were in the world you have been? I've not seen you post in awhile. Thought you might of left town, went left instead of right at the Pineville bridge and figured you were lost. I was starting to get worried about you. Looks like you have a companion down on Bayshore Drive?

Very, Very well is the word coming out so far. I had a chance to see the ARENA these kids will call home and I understand the comment Jones made about it in the paper. The best I have seen. REMARKABLE TO SAY THE LEAST.

Lynch is still a living legend. The legends lives on. Just leave Harlan and mention Lynch. Everyone has heard or still knows about them.

Estill returns the entire team minus the QB.

I think HCHS will get Middlesboro. Just a guess but I have a good feeling about that one.

As of 5-23-08 Lungbuster will NO MORE remark about Harlan ( positive or negative).

I would love that also, but they have a long way to go before they can think about that. A lot of bumps in the road and Breathitt has an outstanding team and again one of the better coaches in the game. It will be interesting.

I feel like I just woke from a dream. I never recall saying anything against Belfry. Belfry has an outstanding program and one of the most respected coaches in the game. I never recall crowning Harlan County High with any titles. I am just excited about Harlan County High School and the opportunity it brings to the kids of the county. To be Honest I don't care anything about Harlan City. If they win it all ( good for them). It they lose them all, it really has no bearing on myself. The only reason I mentioned Harlan City was because a question was ask by Log Mnt. about transfers. I simply stated that I can't imagine why anyone would want to go to the city with what the county has to offer. I stick with that statement because thats my opinion.:thumb:

I agree with you 100%. But again that is kind of easy because you have 8 years of County in you big guy. You are more of a hybrid than a Dragon. I don't know for sure if your message would be the same without those 8 years. Loyall gave you the background to be the good person you are. Maybe we need to refer to you as a Indiandragon or something to that effect. Loyall did just a fine job that the city couldn't damage it during high school. lol I know your smart enough to realize that I am only goshing around!:thumb:

I would think they will make the playoffs this coming year. If I am not mistaking aren't they in a 4 district field. All of them will make the playoffs, correct?
