One of these days the LB's are gonna experience a 10th region championship game and a trip to state, I keep telling myself. The way this tournament was playing out was idea for the taking more than any recent year can remember. Everyone is back a year older, great bunch, well coached and well supported, it''ll happen. Congrats to the Lady Bluejackets and Lady Colonels. Love the fans of Nicholas,reminds me of Bracken County, am hoping they bring the title back to Carlisle.

Very,very good showing by the Lady Royals. Excellent coaching job this season, no quit for this team at any time.

Re-read my statement. When you long play the same sport all the time, all year long, you should be head and shoulders above others, that is not the case in some instances,not all obviously. Sports are about other things than playing it all the time, teamwork,maturity,decision-maiking, FUNDAMENTALS,selflessness. AAU in some cases teaches me,me,me more than team.

Is it for certain that he will start in the semi's? Could they possibly throw Kendall and save Martin for a possible championship game? Was this the plan all along? Who are the third choices if they get into trouble?

Most parents want that AAU title attached to their kid thinking it makes them special, when in fact for the amount of games they play all year long year after year and the money spent they are no better than non-AAU kids, most are burnt out. Having that AAU title attached to your name does guarantee you starting on your high school team, but 99.9 kids are going to small colleges, if any and most of those return home after a semester, have seen it over and over and over.

All are top notch, the layouts for the football and baseball fields are top notch. Having lots of trees and hillsides are great for fans. Concessions were quick and good,restrooms close. Too many fields for the regional are either too cramped or just laid out like in the middle of a desert. Trees,shade, seating and good views are a must

Everyone agrees about safety, not only for the kids but grandparents in attendance, but make the schedule changes on Saturday at the draw when they are giving record heat on Monday for people that are traveling long distances to see the games if all that is being asked. This will happen again next year because Memorial Day is always cooking, so eliminate the 10am and 12:30 games, go with 5:30 and 8:00 and add a day. Thought yesterday's heat was just as bad in the morning and early afternoon as it got later. Were getting close to having a Midnite Madness regional tournament:rolleyes:

How about taking some time off after a 40 game season, then working out or traveling with your SCHOOL team during the summer and playing on a minimum schedule. Can't stand AAU in any sport. Where is there any benefit in playing with other teammates? Sorry for the soapbox RP.

So there is no innings pitched or amount of games pitched rule for softball in the tournament? Hope it is Emma.

Really enjoyed the field, the many good and high bleacher seats on both sides, the hillsides,trees,parking,excellent concessions. Just a great place to have the 10th region tournament, great location,etc. Much,much better than the crampness at Scott High School and Campbell County(no trees,bad concessions). Anyone know who will hold it next year? Wish Montgomery would get it every year.

Have seen him and just don't believe the 6'9 part, 6'5.6'6 maybe. The 260 part is right though. Looks like he could be a really good on the OL or DL. Did he play football?

These 2 will be battling for years to come. Don't forget Bracken did not have Sticklan this season because of injury.

Bracken County just does not have any luck when it comes to keeping coaches long unless they are from within the County or close(at any sport). In football, they've went the superstar route with the past hires of Faust and Siple, along with others not so famous. They may need to go young this time, maybe an assistant Coach from Nicholas,Lewis,Fleming or Mason would be willing to come to Bracken and live and stay for awhile. They will need to be a salesman because after this coming season they will need to convince a bunch of kids that are in track,baseball and basketball to give football a chance as well for a couple of years.

Anyone have details on this game? Who pitched?

District champs, victories over Lewis County and twice over Pendleton County are just some of the things to build on for next season. Will have to find pitching as they lose Cummings,Williams and Moore. Congrats.

:thumb: At least 2 years in a row with this kind of weather, looks to be another long hot dry summer. Only 4 more months till football and football weather:D

The thing that bothers me Goldie is that this year and last they knew that the heat was going to be a major problem days in advance, so we all prepare and drink and bring plenty of water,wet towels,etc. and drive long distances and then they re arrange things at the last minute. So why not make the schedule for early morning and late evening so we can choose to come at those times if we want to. Have been too many,many Coach Pitch tournaments with kids 8 and below that had to play 3 games in one day where the heat was as bad as today. Safety does come first, but come on this isn't football, the kids are in and out of the dugout within minutes, able to get plenty of water and shade, there's not a lot of assertion in baseball, mostly standing around. The elderly fans and relatives get the worsr of it in most cases, but they come well prepared and then have gametimes changed by hours. Just tell everyone on Saturday what the schedule is going to be on Monday for the fans and safety reasons,etc.

Off of what, there's not a tree to be found near that field. Probably always hotter there than the airport. Last year umpires and players were dropping like flies during the Boys 10th Region Tournament because of the heat.
