You're right about that. The last two games were her best I've seen as a coach. And she was going up against some dandy coaches too.

Just got back from that post game celebration. What a game! It was a clash of the titans from my prospective. The lady royals came out with a fire in their eyes I don't know if I've seen before. The post was no place for the weak as the big girls battled it out, each rebound of a missed shot brought a war underneath. Fortman tried to pick Russell up and carry them but the Royals were too much to overcome. A brilliantly coached and played ballgame. Hats off to both teams and coaches. I was completely impressed. Good ball game by the refs tonight also. Not many bad calls that I could see and called the game consistantly throughout. Good job!

Congrats to both teams. Even though it hurts now, it was a good finish for Ashland this year. And what can you say about Russell; they're just plain tough!

Great job lady Royals. And great job coach Euton. Holding Emily out in the third and turning the defensive pressure back up in the fourth was the difference tonight. The girls had to dig down deep to put East Carter away.

"I pray... that the referees don't gang up to beat Rose Hill". Seem like I read that post a little earlier in the day. Maybe the prayer should have been for the referees not to gang up on Rowan Co, or that center for Russell wouldn't be so mean to our players! Please, lets give Russell their due, that they're a darn good team. Going to be hard to beat for anyone. Rowan has a nice team and a good coach, but Russell is definetly the better team tonight. Period.

Just wanted to compliment GORadio for the coverage of the tourney so far. You guys are doing a great job! Man, it's tough when you go cold from the field like Rowan did. It's a helpless feeling when nothing will fall.

I'll take Russell over Rowan, but this game is a tossup really. I've just got a hunch that Russell will win. For Ashland to upset West Carter the guards will have to be hitting the threes. Can they make enough of them? I'll pick the kittens in the first round upset.

I think Russell beats Rowan Co myself, especially if the Rowan Co. girls think they're as invincable as their fans on here do. I'll predict a Russell / RoseHill final, but I can see four teams that would have a chance to win the whole thing; Russell, Rowan, Rose Hill and Raceland (tough for them without Vanderhoof though). Should be another great tourney, and you know there may be an upset or two! Don't see any juggernuats this year. One more thing; good health to all of the teams. I don't want to see any more injuries this year.

My apologies Himmelfarb, if my remarks to you on the thread helped lead it in this direction. I sure like both the paper and Vanhoose, and I have been glad to see him play also. I thought the earlier remarks were just kidding amongst friends, nothing more. I think it's nice to have an article about your players in the paper no matter how large or small the article is. Congrats again to Emily for this acheivement. And to all of her teammates who have been a part of it.
