Yes sir, I see your point. They are Jarod Flannery and Cody Nickel. I know what you mean about Timmy being very important due to his size. He's 6'7" and blocks a lot of shots and plays so well on both sides of the basket. My point is that Elliott needs all of their players and I don't know who they can least afford to lose. All of Elliott's starters are needed for this team to be where they are, and I believe that. I don't want to discuss which player is more important than the other, they are just such a team. I love this team and believe that they are where they are because the team functions so well together.

Politically correct? Maybe. I see your point, but do you think that Elliott can afford to lose Ethan Faulkner, Evan Faulkner or Jonathan Ferguson? I don't think so, they need their first 8, and their last 2. This team is a team and each individual is good because the team is good.

I agree. He started near the end of last season and has kept developing nicely since(his ankle sprain hurt Elliott at the state tourney). Elliott is a team, they have several players that mean so much to how they operate and Timmy is right in the mix. Elliott needs all of their players to be the team that they are, the first 8 most certainly, but those last two are important as well. They all seem to work well both on and off the court.

I've heard a lot of complaints about Elliott's starters playing late into the games this season. IMO, These complaints are made by people who do not want Elliott to improve over the course of the year, so other 16th region teams can catch up. I don't believe that there have been any bad intentions by the Elliott coaching staff, rather, they want their team to keep improving during the season(and yes this includes getting minutes during the season whether the game is a blowout or not). Elliott's good players need significant PT in every game to improve and let's not forget that they deserve it and need it to improve(how will they ever get better if they only play in close games??). Elliott shows mercy by calling off the press, which has been showing mercy in every game. But you can't blame Elliott's coaches for wanting their players to play more than 12 minutes per game. These kids have worked hard and improved almost every day since last season, so they deserve some PT. Some of you never expected a team like Elliott to be so dominate, my advise to you is, "DEAL WITH IT". Several of you have enjoyed the days when your team was good, let us enjoy our time. As an Elliott fan, I'm POSITIVE that we deserve it.

The dogs were called off in this game pretty quick. This could have easily been a 60-70 point win for Elliott. I would venture to say Boyd County had around 30 turnovers. There is no better full court pressure defense in the state compared to Elliott County's defense.

Alright, understood. I feel that it is way to early to make this type of judgement. Elliott has played three games and all three have been blow outs. I'm very confident that when there is a close game, that Ferg will be on the floor. He's a great player and will be on the floor when it counts. He played right at 3 quarters last night, what more is needed in a 50 point game? I just don't feel there was a need to keep him in the game any longer last night or in the first two. There is no need in taking a chance on an injury in a game that is clearly over. I don't feel that it is politics that has pulled him out of the games, it's just that the games were over when he came out. I know there was one starter that stayed, but someone had to with only 10 players on the team. And from watching the game, Ferg played just as much as that starter. Ferg is a great kid and a great ball player, and I love to watch him play as much as most anyone, but I don't see the need to keep him in a game that is a blow out.

Ferg is a great kid. I'm positive that if there is a close game that he will be in the game. He's the best player in the 16th region.

No, he just plays that well. If the games were close, he would have played more and average about 48 per game in the first three. Since the first three weren't close, he didn't play enough to score as much as he could. So many complain about Elliott running up the scores, they should realize how bad it could have been. Mays has called the horses off in every game.

Elliott is a very good team. I'm not going to get into ranking, but you need to chill out. Elliott's team needs to avoid reading this and just keep playing some great basketball.

I never said anything bad about Greenup County. I hope all goes well for them in the future. My comment was made because I found the original comment to be way off base.

What is your purpose? So you are saying that after Elliott gets a good lead, they should not let their good players play. The starters for Elliott have worked hard and they should not be penalized because they are winning. Sure, you need to let your bench play, as Elliott did in this game and the game before. Elliott was not trying to demoralize Greenup, they were trying to play basketball. No coach should ever try to hold back his players, that is just not good for the team or the players. This game could have been much worse if they were trying to demoralize Greenup.

If you read the post I left earlier. They will be playing the #1 and maybe the #2 team in the state this year, according to the rankings on this site. I put Elliott's strength of schedule against anyone's in the 16th region this year. How many top 25 teams did Rose Hill play last year?
