As an Elliott County fan for all my life, it looks so good to see Elliott County in the top ten of the state. I played for this team and watched them through the bad times and now the good. I hope they play well and win the game the game against Covington Catholic. That would be a huge win against a big name school in KY. I appreciate all the hard work from the players, coaches and parents over the years that have led to this team. A big thanks from me to all of you.

Does anyone know how many Seniors Mason County has on this team? I know Miller is.

I was suprised with Grace Baptist play. The guards played pretty good D. But McMasters inside was a beast. I haven't heard the final numbers. But he had to have 10 blocks. This was pretty good team from the way they sounded on the radio. They made a big run at the end, cutting the lead to 3 when Ethan Faulkner got his 4th foul early in the 4th. Grace Baptist forced a few turnovers when Ethan was out of the game. I was impressed with Grace Baptist defense, but it seemed as though they had an off night shooting the ball, especially from 3 point range. Grace Baptist played a 6'8 and a 6'10 guy. I was impressed with the way Elliott rebounded against them. But they did cause a lot of problems on the inside on offense.

The big prospect 6-10 McMasters had about 10 blocks. I believe they said he was held to 7 points. So Timmy Knipp did a good job on him. Elliott did not shoot well tonight, but forced several turnovers. It is good to see Elliott win when they have an off night shooting.

Ferguson played a very good game as did the Elliott team. The officating was the worst that I've ever seen(and I've watched a lot and I mean a lot of games in my life). This would have been a 40+ game with fair (or even decent) officials. It's sad that anyone officiates like the two younger officials did tonight. I wish they could be penalized if the uppers in the asssociation watched a recorded version of this game. I have nothing positive to say about those two, so I will not speak any further on them. Good luck to North Oldham going forward. And thank you to Elliott for another great effort. We appreciate you guys and all the hard work.

Elliott County should be in and Shelby Valley. Both of these teams play fast and could make some noise at Rupp this year. Good point about Paintsville could knock off Shelby Valley though. Anything could happen on a given night. I believe Elliott is a legitimate top 10 team in the state. I have watched 16th region basketball for 20 years and this is one of the best I have seen in the region.

I found some info on Carter McMasters. According to Rivals 150 he is a 3 star and has signed a letter of intent with Liberty. Also, he was being recruited by: Clemson South Carolina Tennessee Virginia Virginia Tech Wake Forest

Thanks for the update. Do you know how good the guard play is with them? Should Elliott County's guards cause problems for them?

I heard they finished in 2nd in the state last year and they returned their main players. I would say they played a pretty tough schedule. But I can't say for sure. This team does worry me though.
