  1. Chicken Soup for the Soul, Baseball Edition. Numerous short stories
  2. http://www.flickr.com/groups/nikond700/discuss/72157626123497269/ This factory was only one mile from being destroyed. Those of you interested in photography can appreciate the Japanese expertise in this field. Canon reported no damage. Panasonic had couple factories to close as did Sony. Flash memory for many smartphones is made in this region. Before any comments, this pales in relation to the massive scope of this disaster, in human loss and horrendous suffering.
  3. Congratulations, and to those great fans I met at Raffertys before the game, I'm happy for you, an experience of a lifetime.
  4. Watching people running down road getting overtaken by water was just numbing
  5. This is a Major disaster taking place on live TV, Hawaii may be on alert
  6. Factories are on fire, farmland homes, cars being washed away
  7. Live footage of flooding, tsunami are presently being broadcast on Fox News, people are literally running for their lives, some of the most dramatic footage ever on TV
  8. Some schools have squads that with split purposes, one for games, one for competition. Our kids enjoy doing both and are well appreciated, have a good relationship with the crowd. Sure things change, kids watch TV and if they see the latest fad on ESPN, jumping together, blackouts, one person leading them on a roller coaster, let them enjoy it. Cheerleaders can harness the energy of a crowd. This state basketball tournament watch people who haven't yelled all year get up in Rupp or Diddle when it means something. If you ever get a chance, take in a football game at West Point Military Academy, the students know the cheers and sometimes officers join in with the cheerleaders, kinda cheers like the 50's, 5000 cadets yelling at once is pretty impressive. Their cheerleaders were known as Rabble Rowsers, or at least when Dwight Eisenhower was a cheerleader that's what they were called.
  9. Apparently China didn't get the memo.
  10. One of the reasons the teachers union is desperate on this issue is the proposed elimination of automatic deductions of union dues. This was done in New York for eighteen months and collections dropped by 35%. Also to those who think the total compensation package of 89,000 is not a big deal since only 59,000 to 61,000 is salary on average; would you agree to a 10,000 dollar salary increase and elimination of the benefit package.
  11. I could never attend, couldn't get up and down that many times. Beside now that I turned it on I'm gonna have to straighten back up it's tilted completely to the left.
  12. Haven't played a Dixie Chicks record since she trashed the USA, couldn't care less either. There's plenty of music to be had without them.
  13. Saw one fan bring a car battery and Volkswagen horn, thank goodness that game was out of question in first quarter
  14. Dragon I know you do great work, I looked on YouTube to see any trends with this song, the ones on there were pretty weak. I think despite the obvious, it is written in a reflective tone , which with the right footage, could have it's moments. Keep up the good work.
  15. Of those who have completed your football banquets, how many had a video to the soundtrack of Boys of Fall?
  16. If you are shooting in dark gym or night sports and want to stop action, make sure the camera will allow a high ISO rating. Also if you are buying a used camera on ebay from a photographer, remember this quote, "Buying a used camera from a photographer is like buying a used car from a NASCAR driver.
  17. While it was cold today, Louisville and Lexington would have had snow
  18. Games played in The pizza box remind me of a Skip Carey quote when he looked out at an empty Atlanta crowd, " Looks like a good day to paint the seats"
  19. Great crowd on both sides. Allen filled the new side of the stadium. Boyle fans were no slouch either. Filled 70 % of the lower old section. Great setting for a championship.
