Transfers do happen. Everyone talks about how the players want to go to successful programs. That is what happens in today's "Me Society". Commitment to a school or a program is something of the past. What gets forgotten about is the negative impact it has on the schools that the players left. If Bradley stayed at Connor, how good would they have been? My opinion would have been very good. After Dailey left Ryle, it set them back 2 - 3 years in their program if not more. This is just 2 instances that come to mind and in no way am I singling these 2 out.

Seems like a good game for WV to prepare them for the state. Owen will give them a very good game.

A lot of teams enjoy advantages of playing at home. That is way it is called home court advantage. If Williamstown hit the shots they should have hit, this would have never been brought up. You cannot miss uncontested lay-ups and free throws and expect to win at home or on the road. Gallatin made the plays when it counted and they pulled out the win.

She was visibly upset. 3 or 4 missed free throws in the last 30 seconds as well as a couple missed lay-ups really cost Williamstown.

2 players and an assistant all went to Grant Co. over the summer. Oh well. Coach May does an outstanding job with the kids he has.

After the thumping Grant at the hands of Walton, I would say Owen by double digits.

CC must have done a good job on Hill and Davis. I am sure Coach Roberts is unhappy with their combined 13 points against a smaller CC team. Looked like Morris had a good game. If she hits some shots, that will open up the inside for Gallatin.

Both teams shot the ball pretty well. Too many turnovers and lack of rebounding killed W'town again. Thier post players have to rebound better, or it will be a very long year. Wilhoit is going to get hers, but it is like some of the others wait for Tori to get the rebounds. Wilhoit for W'town went to the bench with around 2 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter. SK outscored WT 11-2 the rest of the half. They went from a 10 point lead to 19 at the half. I thought the 2nd half, the Lady Demons played better, but they cannot dig that big of a hole and expect to win, especially against a team the caliber of SK. Wainscott is the real deal. IMO, her along with Wilhoit are 2 of the top 5-6 players in the region.

Must have been because the band wasn't there. The Demons lost the home court advantage!!!!

Williamstown Jr. Guard Tori Wilhoit grabbed her 1000th rebound tonight in a 62-49 loss to Bracken County. She ended up with 16 rebounds for the game. This came on the heels of Tori getting her 1000th point in her last game.

That is a HUGE game. Congrats to Brooke and the Ladycats.

Williamstown Jr. Guard Chelsea West tied her career high of 27 points in a 55-54 win at Pendleton Co. She hit 6 three pointers for the game. Jr. Guard Tori Wilhoit added 11 points in limited action due to foul trouble.

In a 55-54 win at Pendleton Co., Williamstown Jr. Guard Tori Wilhoit scored her 1000th point. Foul trouble limited her bid to grab her 1000th rebound though, She currently sits at 996 rebounds. Way to go Tori.

Tonight's game showed that Oldham does miss senior Emily Lape, their leading scorer and rebounder from last year who did very well against SK in last year's regional SF. Where is Lape? I didn't see her name in the linescore.

Nice win for the Ladycats. 31st District could be up for grabs this year.

Final. Williamstown led throughout until the end, but came up short to SK. Wainscott and Wilhoit showed why there are 2 of the better players in the 8th region. Wainscott scored 9 in the decisive 4th quarter. SK's defense caused problems for Williamstown. Wilhoit had 21 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists before fouling out with less than a minute remaining. Very entertaining game.

Nice win by GC. They hit some huge shots in the 4th quarter. Williamstown had too many turnovers late. Also allowed too many offensive rebounds and put GC on the line too many times. Wilhoit played well, but still is not in game shape. Should be a good matchup in the All A Semi-Finals (if Williamstown gets by Eminence). Both teams should be at full strength by then.
