  1. I agree. The big thing was how Billy G handled his bench, and his subs. Tubby would have had the team chemistry far better than it was, and your right the confidence would have been higher. I never said anything remotely close to that.
  2. Cal and Izzo would be my top 2 for the job, if not those guys, I would chase hard after Few and Wright. If you couldn't get those guys, go after Donovan. If not him, I guess you settle for Ford or Pelphrey.
  3. I am pulling for Mich. State this game. Suton is going off.
  4. Big difference, the NBA was calling for Ricky P.
  5. Well I would still tend to disagree somewhat. I think Tubby would have won more games than he did in his last years at UK, they would have beaten better teams, and would have gotten farther in the NCAA tournament.
  6. :deadhorse: :deadhorse: :deadhorse:
  7. Wow. Look at Matta's numbers. 229-78 in 9 years. Nine 20 win seasons(Not a year with 20 or less wins) Had his teams in the post season 8 times(1 NIT, 7 NCAA's) NIT champs last year, and the national runner ups in 2006-2007. Missed the post season once, Ohio State was ineligible. He still won 20 games that year. Outside of this year, he has made it past the 1st round every year in the dance. To me, that is just a little bit better than what Billy Clyde has done.
  8. Coach K is under no heat at Duke. I wouldn't mind seeing him fired and that program completely fall apart because I do hate them very, very much.
  9. I think Tubby would have won all the games he was "supposed to" and then some he wasn't "supposed to". I don't know about that, it all would depend on the seed # they got. No, not like Billy Clydes last 2 years.
  10. Had stayed, what do you think his record would have been over the past 2 years? Would he still had been under the fire to leave? What kind of kids would he have brought in? I honestly think Tubby would have won more than 18 games 2 years ago. That team had some pretty good talent on it, even with the injuries. I say Tubby could have won anywhere from 23-26 games with that bunch, and could have gotten a lot higher seed in the tournament and went to the Sweet 16 or better. This year I still think he could have did better than Billy G. Kentucky finished at 22-14. I really think Tubby would have done better than that, and obviously put them in the big dance. I would say Tubby would have finished the regular season at 23-8(Billy G finished the regular season at 19-12), and that would have gotten them a higher seed in the SEC tournament, but still say a 1-1 mark in that, they go into the NCAA TOURNAMENT at 24-9(Billy G went into the NIT at 20-13) and get anywhere from an 6-10 seed. Still not what Kentucky fans wanted, but far better than Billy G. As for next year, I think he could have had a very strong season with Patterson and Meeks coming back. I also believe during all this Jasper is still a Wildcat and so is Legion. Those two could have been very helpful for Kentucky. I would say Tubby would have a good year, and get them to at least the Sweet 16, and very possibly an Elite 8 appearance. That still wouldn't have been good enough for UK fans. I do think Tubby would have been under fire and the fans would still have wanted to let him go. I think during those 2 years he could have brought in some kids a lot talented than Liggins and Galloway, and wouldn't been chasing after Euton and other 8th grade studs. I'm not saying this just out of hatred of Billy G and me being a very big Tubby supporter, that's just what I honestly believe.
  11. Good sign for Alabama. He is a young and rising coach and I wish him well there.
  12. I would say the new coach will need to be hired at least a week after the tournament is over.
  13.    The day he left Duke......................especially for Kentucky...........
  14. Both are better than Billy Clyde IMO. But if either of those two came to Kentucky, I seriously think Big Blue Nation would come close to evaporating.
  15. He couldn't be the AD at Pikeville College.
  16. I won't buy into that one. Izzo is loved far more at Michigan State than he ever would be at Kentucky, plus look what he has built there and the time he has spent up there. I doubt he leaves that place, for Kentucky. It would be a very, very dumb move if he did.
  17. I would rather have Lowe over Billy G, and if anywhere in Texas it would be Tech or UTEP again.
  18. I have said that since the day it happened. I love Tubby, and he did a lot for Kentucky basketball but people put him under to much heat and pressure, now he is a very loved man up in Minnesota.
  19. Did he announce what high school JV team he will be coaching next season?
  20. Well won 40 games in 2 years. (UK fans expect 26-30 wins a YEAR) Lost to VMI, Gardner-Webb, and Vandy beat them by what, close to 80 points? They missed the NCAA tournament.......................hm, I'm sure I can end this list right now.
  21. It would be dumb for Calipari to leave Memphis for Kentucky.
  22. It seems as if every thread on here now is about Billy G.
  23. Now I wouldn't call that a big reason to come to Kentucky. UK fans are far, far, far different from any other big time program fans in the country.
