  1. It's funny because two months ago after Central beat Mason County for the 2nd time, a few people on here were ripping the Royals saying Central was a lower tier 11th team, etc, etc. It was obvious to me and a few others that the Indians had obviously overcome whatever was troubling them early in the year. Yes, this is an upset, but this is a darn good Central team and they have been since that rough start. Because the 11th is a state tournament in and of itself, they still have to win one more game to get to Rupp.
  2. Brenton Covington hits a 3 pointer with 5 seconds left to send Central to the 11th Region Championship game.
  3. After one Griffin Hughes free throw for the Eagles, Robin Kelsch stepped onto the floor, took Jameel Halawani's long pass up the right sideline and hit a 3 in the corner as the horn sounded, to wild cheering from the orange-shirted Panthers faithful. Of course, it didn't count. But the shot, which displayed the shooting form that helped the coach amass 1,258 points as an Augusta player from 1987-1990, was certainly a unique way for Robin Kelsch to end his coaching career as he prepares to take the principal's job. Augusta: J. Kelsch 10, Appelman 8, Gibbs 6, Moore 4, Bach 19, Krebs 9, T. Kelsch 5, Hamilton 4, Thorpe 3, Linville 1 Scott: P. Roberts 20, Stivers 17, Farris 13, Haynes 8, Smith 6, Jehn 7, Morrison 7, Pouncy 6, Jackson 6, Rothfuss 4, Daughtery 2, Felts 2, Hughes 1 http://maysville-online.com/sports/article_f0cd7e62-46e2-11e0-9d88-001cc4c03286.html
  4. Oh okay, I didn't know how much time was left, I listened to the last couple minutes on radio. I know Scott was trying for 100, but they had the ball and chose to shoot it before time expired, that led to foul shots and the improbable finish.
  5. No, there was like 2 seconds left when Scott missed a free throw, Augusta gets the rebound, ball is thrown to coach and he made the shot.
  6. Told my father that I'm "hoping" to stay and watch both games. The way I see it as a Royals fan, I'm paying not just to see a good basketball game between two solid teams, I see it as a lottery ticket. Scott pulls off the shocker and yeah, this board will be REALLY interesting to read.
  7. As long as Mason County takes care of its business in the 1st game, I will be front row to watch this one. The last two years that these teams have met, it's been nip/tuck, I can't wait to see how it plays out.
  8. Eastern will play J'town in 7th Region Championship on Monday.
  9. Scott will face Clark County in 10th Region semi-final tomorrow night.
  10. What a total mess. 47-36 Eastern end of 3
  11. Just a wittle bit quicker than me  As for the game, last update I saw was 42-29 Eastern, late in 3rd quarter.
  12. Yeah, on Twitter it was put out there that even the Eastern band was having a hard time finding a place to sit. Pretty darn ridiculous, especially if people already paid for a ticket.
  13. Ashland will play Rowan County in the 16th Region championship game on Monday.
  14. Scott up 29-9 end of 1st quarter 59-24 half
  15. If it's Augusta, yes, Clark wins going away. If it's Scott, the Cardinals have only beaten them by 6 points each game the last two years.
  16. J'town advances to Monday's 7th Region championship game.
  17. Cardinals will play Saturday night against the winner of Augusta/Scott
  18. Rowan led 17-12 at end of 1st quarter, but Lewis County only scored 2 points in the 2nd quarter, trailed 32-14 at half.
  19. Rowan advances to Monday's 16th Region championship game.
  20. Bullitt East will face PRP in 6th Region final on Monday.
  21. I see you just joined in December. You should go back last year and read the postgame thread in the 10th Championship game or you can go read the recent thread from a few weeks ago when the tournament dates and setup was announced. The fan cheering section has been a source of debate for over a year.
  22. He is moving VERY well. When he was introduced on senior night, I saw he was in his uniform and I figured that maybe he did that so he could at least warm up with the team. During warmups that night, he was cutting and looking really good, it was talked about on here how he got a standing ovation that night when he came in late in 1st quarter. He said before the Campbell game that his knee felt great and it shows in how he plays, I can imagine he is building more confidence each game playing with it. It's not about the points or rebounds he gets it, those are a nice bonus. You just see him constantly getting his hand on balls, great passer, etc. The forgotten aspect of Neal's return is that the Royals bench is now 8 or 9 deep, depending on Osborne's health.
  23. It shows in their games against Cov Cath, Ashland and Clark County. All three games were close in the 4th and could have gone either way, not having his leadership on the floor was a big difference. I'm not saying they win all three, but they win at least one or maybe even two of those with him playing.
