So...... Apex are you saying Williamsburg done such a good job on defense that they held McCullah SCORELESS? Thanks for the compliment.

Whitley did play well. Williamsburg had some problems. I don't think this game really matters that much. Let's face it, it just means one of us plays the powerhouse of Corbin the other the powerhouse of South Laurel. Hopefully next year it will mean more. Right now Corbin and South Laurel are to much for either of these teams to handle.

I watched both games and the girls game was definitely affected by the officials. I was being sarcastic when I said the refs needed more training it was evident that wouldn't help. I saw an article in the Corbin Times by (a certain sportwriter) about the officating problems. Since then I have taken a closer look and noticed he does have a point they do sometimes change the course of some games. I'm not saying Whitley wouldn't of won this game they did indeed outplay Williamsburg, in the boys game. I predict Williamsburg girls will defeat Whitley next year.

Teague was missed tonignt along with Brandon Conlin who gets alot of playing time. On a neutral gym with officals who really don't care about the winner or loser of the game (the better team won)! Whitley did play well tonight, but the officals could of used more training.

Teague does not have a broke ankle and could be back by Tuesday.

I personally think Whitley and Williamsburg have some underrated players, however with their records not many notice.

I think this will be a close game. Both teams will want the win, hopefully that will motivate them to play much harder than they did the first go around at Williamsburg. I was one of the few in attendance for their matchup at McCreary Co. Williamsburg just outplayed Whitley Co. It is hard to tell with these two teams, they are both hot and cold.

I too agree with you Americanman. TEAM work is a must for the team that pulls off this win. It seems as though both Whitley and Williamsburg are improving their game. This one should be fun to watch.

Nice win for the Jackets. I think this is something all needs to realize, these boys are their true age for their class. Teague is a sophmore and is 15, Taylor is a freshman and has just turned 15, Pettit is a freshman who is 14 getting ready to turn 15. If you put another year on these young men their physical and maturity level will definite increase.

I heard the same Americanman. I heard Williamsburg led most of the first half and at one time was up by 5. Teague had an awesome game and according to the radio was announced M.V.P. of the game and received a jersey for his efforts. Keep climbing Jackets, you'll get there!:ylsuper:

Corbin played a good game. After watching South Laurel and Corbin play I am surprised that the score wasn't closer in that game. Williamsburg has more work to do, but I do see improvement with every game. Best of luck to the Redhounds and the Jackets.:thumb:

A very long time ago when I was in school and played basketball we too were not considered much of a threat to an opposing team who had a 10-0 record coming to play us. On the other hand we had a 2 and 6 record. After a long hard fought battle and two overtimes we won the game by one point. The other team went on to win the District that year and were Region runner-up, but they said that game was a true wake-up call for them. I have always been a firm believer (NEVER UNDER ESTIMATE YOUR OPPONENT!)

Coach Robinson is somewhat reserve, but don't let that fool you he can get loud if he wants. He is constantly planning for his Jackets. These young Jackets have responded well to him.

They have placed a feeding tube in Jon and they had to do a trac. God Bless these families.

There will be no doubt Whitley will be ready, but I think Williamsburg will be just as prepared. From my understanding Whitley has all their players back and Williamsburg played without their starter Steven Taylor. Williamsburg is pulling together as a team and they never work harder than they do against Whitley. I think this will be another close game. Deaton seems to give up on his team quickly when they are down. Too bad for these young players. They have a future, but encouragement goes a long way too.

Whitley led by as much as 13, but could not hold on to the lead. This seems to be a problem for them. Alot of turnovers on their part. The Jackets and Coach Robinson just wanted this win more than the Colonels.

I agree Apex! The ball was not controlled well either. But on a bright note both of these teams have some very good young talent. The Crawford kid will be a big plus underneath for Whitley along with others such as Ben Prewitt, Lebanion to name a couple. On Williamsburg end they have kids like Teague, Cunningham, Taylor, Pettit, and Conlin along with others. I see much brighter days ahead for these two teams.

Watching Whitley Co. and Williamsburg square off on the court has been a longtime passion of mine. However last night was not pretty!! Was there a cover on the basket or what? These two teams have got to shoot better to ever contend with the likes of South Laurel and Corbin.
