  1. Well basketball has been open for almost a week now... I was wanting to hear about how you think your teams look early on? Anybody excited about what they see/hear? Any disappointments?
  2. Thomas's daddy could flat out play also, back in the day!!
  3. Earlier in the year heat and humidity was an issue because lots of kids were cramping up due to dehydration.
  4. Gallatin County. 6-2 opn the season and only in the 2nd year of the program!:ylsuper:
  5. Glad to hear the young man is doing better!
  6. CB, you have posted another classy one here! However, I must disagree with you in that the game will not be close, regardless of weather. Emminence does have some nice players, but they have no match for the team speed your squad has. Mud, sleet, rain, hot... I think Frankfort is too much for them in any weather.
  7. Wow, nobody has responded since your post... Guess they are all fighting it out in the pm's:laugh:
  8. Does anyone have the details on this game? I was not able to make it to this one tonight and would like to know how the game went? Did GC look flat, or was Spencer that good?
  9. Sorry to hear about this injury to such an outstanding football player. I wish him God speed in his recovery.
  10. Gallatin will need to play a mistake free game, but I think that they will beat Spencer in a close game. Call it 24-20.
  11. I agree TBG, Moral victories are like kissing your sister... I'll take the Raiders in this one. Go Raiders!
  12. Nothing personally taken here, my friend. It is what it is with Gallatin's schedule. Last year they could only get 8 games on the varsity schedule. This year they had the full compliment of 10 varsity games. I am guessing that as the next few seasons come about, other schools such as Dayton, Ludlow and Bellevue will have openings in their schedule and we could maybe get a game or two with them. With us being a 2nd year program, I am thinking we were lucky to schedule the teams we have.
  13. I saw this link on another post and thought it might be helpful to some in their discussion of Gallatin's strength of schedule. http://www.kentucky.com/292/story/196787.html As it is on this page today, when all is said Gallatin will have played the #3, #13, and #26 on this list. Of the 10 games they play in a season, a third of them show favorably on this list. Take it for what it is worth....
  14. I wonder if you would have said the same if Evarts was still in the top 10 of the 'A' when they played Gallatin? Gallatin can't help if the other teams they play are not living up to their expectations. They lined up across from them, played the games and except for Frankfort came out victorious. Is it their fault if a key player from one team or other was injured, or ill, and took the wind from that teams sails? How is it their fault if a program is having a down year such as Owen. Last year Owen drubbed them pretty good, so did Trimble. Give the kids from Gallatin some credit here...:thumb:
  15. Congratulations to Carroll on the first win of the season.
  16. Carlton and Henson out of this game, but they didn't need them.
  17. Thanks for being so positive in your 3rd post ever!!! Really classy.:irked: Maybe the 8th isn't as good as some of the other regions, but since the caliber of play is fairly even amongst the member schools down here in the 8th, we think it is pretty darn exciting basketball. That is why this weak region's thread has been open for nearly two months, and working on 3 full pages. So IMO, you can get stepping...
  18. Carroll will win this game because they are the better team.
  19. Trimble has a good football team, and Bird is having a GREAT year. However, the Raiders have no answer for the overall team speed of Frankfort. I don't think it will be 84-0 or even 68-8 as it was when Frankfort gave Gallatin their only loss. But I do think Frankfort will when by 28 points or more. However, I am pulling for the Raiders in this game.
  20. Why have a poll when there are so few giving there opinions??? Gallatin wins this game. IMO the youngsters will play more than the varsity squad will.
  21. TBG, Do you know if KHSAA records defensive sacks? Henson(88) at Gallatin has 15 sacks in five games.
  22. Not this Gallatin County Faithful! You have always been supportive in your post to Gallatin County. I believe Bird is a better RB and especially if he is a good acedemic student too. Carlton still has his senior year to be the best RB in the district.
  23. Another nice win for the Wildcats! Way to go!:thumb:
