I am pretty sure it is Leslie Eagle from Morgan. And yes she is one of the best. Especially Vanderhoof from Raceland. Chelsea Williams from Menifee would be up there as well. And she may not one of the best now, but keep your ears open for Gambill from Rose Hill.

I would have to agree. In the 16th I think Raceland will be the favorite. Elliott is a nice hard working team, and have already beaten Raceland. Raceland beat Menifee by 4 in overtime, but let Raceland get healthy and I think they will be a different team. Plus the players that have gotten needed experience up to this point will do nothing but add depth to the bench. So I would guess Raceland with Elliott and Menifee slugging it out for second. Elliott and Menifee went to overtime last year in the tourney. So it will be a good one.

Sorry for the error. Yes it is the Lady Royals. My sincerest apologies. Must of had Lexington Catholic on my mind. I had watched them earlier in the week. But my point stands true. They have some heart and are fun to watch. So again, sorry for the mixup.

Congratulations Rachael. Tremendous player and kid. Super good attitude on and off the court. Noone deserves it more than this kid. Congrats again.

Final. Teams better beat Rose Hill while they can, they truly have something special coming up with their guards. Young and full of talent and confidence. Very fun game to watch. Rose Hill never gave up and played very hard. Great game Lady Knights!!! Be patient, your time will most definently come.

Great reply 2handslam. No offense taken. I was just clarifying that I am not a one team fan. I get to see Menifee play often due to the location of my home. And they seem to really be getting better. Morgan, Elliott, Menifee, with the success of these teams, just gets me excited. I hate it that there is not more talk about these smaller schools other than the occasional mentions. I am glad we are talking about them. I know players that get on here and love to read about themselves and their respective teams. And if you think about it it is time to have a more even playing field in the sixteenth region. You can even mention Fairview and their improvement. I saw them play early last year and they looked terrible. They have an excellent former player and coach I was lucky enough to see them play again and wow what a difference. So good luck to all single A schools in the sixteenth. Go underdogs!!!!

Well thank you 2handslam for researching me, and yes I am pro Menifee. I am more Pro small school than just Menifee. If you look back over the years at any threads on the sixteenth region, it is always the same teams getting talked about. It has been dominated by the Rose Hills and Russells and I am just as much Pro Elliott as Pro Menifee. It is exciting to me to see a team like Elliott have a successful start to their season. And likewise with Menifee. Raceland beats Menifee year in and year out by 40 or more and this year it was in overtime. Elliott beats Raceland. We all know about the injuries, but Elliott County's players could care less about that. They have worked hard and deserve it. I'm not down on anyone. Coach Trimble does a tremendous job at Raceland. He is a class act. And I agree Raceland will be fine later on. But when I pick games to go watch, I always try to attend one with smaller schools. Elliott I really enjoy watching. Menifee is off to a decent start. I am just pro underdog. Makes for exciting basketball. Coach Cantrell has done a tremendous job at Elliott. And Ricker at Menifee has them working hard. It just makes the region better thats all. But again thanks for taking an interest 2 hand slam.

Seems as though the Cats Pause was way off if you look at how the early season is shaping up. Looks as though Elliott County should be way up. As well as Morgan County. And maybe Raceland was overrated. Should make for a great March. Any thoughts?

Well put Kingfish. I do hope the girls fans continue coming to support. I dont think anyone has a chance at a state tournament championship, but this year may be one of the best for close finishes and upsets. May be one of the more entertaining years until the Sweet Sixteen. Im hoping some of these smaller schools surprise some people. But these kids deserve our support. How about position by position? What girls from the 16th would play in the starting 5?

I hate the fact that everybody is saying that the 16th is going to be down this year. It is probably not going to be as strong state wide as last year, but lets not punish the kids and teams this year. They are still going to be working hard.
