Top players in the 16th.

Who will be the top players in the 16th this year?

The Cats Pause is out with the top players and the top teams. The story talked more about last year than it talked about the teams for this year.

I hate the fact that everybody is saying that the 16th is going to be down this year. It is probably not going to be as strong state wide as last year, but lets not punish the kids and teams this year. They are still going to be working hard.

No one wants to "punish" anyone. However, it would be ridiculous for anyone to say that the level of play in the region- teamwise or indvidualwise- will approach what it has been the last couple of years.

Nevertheless, I would agree with justafan23 in that no one should make hurtful comparisons. Although the level of ability won't be there, these girls will work hard to do their best. No one can ask for more and fans of girls's basketball should attend the games just as they have in the past.

Imo if she is healthy Rachael Vanderhoof should be the cream of the crop in the 16th

I agree. Let's hope she has a healthy season and, if so, Raceland will be a major factor in the region.

Well put Kingfish. I do hope the girls fans continue coming to support. I dont think anyone has a chance at a state tournament championship, but this year may be one of the best for close finishes and upsets. May be one of the more entertaining years until the Sweet Sixteen. Im hoping some of these smaller schools surprise some people. But these kids deserve our support. How about position by position? What girls from the 16th would play in the starting 5?

The Fergason girl from Elliott co should be a strong factor for her team this year.

Is that Jonathon's sister?

Yes it is!

Simpson should have a good year, with the losses from graduation, she will have to step her game for the Devils to be successful and I think she will.

I agree. She will be a major factor in the region.

Does Fleming County have anyone back?

Jonathan's sister is having surgery on her knee Nov.2nd. She has missed 18 games in the past two seasons with injury's hopefully she can get past surgery and have a good season. Elliott has two Ferguson girls on the high school team. The other one(Kelsey) is Jonathan's first cousin. She is a really nice player also.
