I agree with madman. Not sure on the wait. I thought the female assistant was a shoe-in. Anyone hear if alot of others applied or does she not want the job. I think South lost alot from last year and will be a dfferent team but, still solid and they had a very good JV last year. It also depends if they get any move-ins.

Great game. Championship will be interested. IMO will come down to who controls the tempo. WV will want to play slow and South will try to speed the game up. If South can turn WV over they will win, but if not the edge goes to WV.

Souths combo of size, length, speed and and strength gave SK fits.

I was puzzled also. Surely one of their top players didn't sit because of match ups?? Great win for SK. Looked like Simons speed and defense gave Anderson fits. It's also sometimes a disadvantage to play on your home court in big games because of the added pressure. Anderson had a great season and good luck to SK

Yes they were impressive along with Whitfield and Dye. Their height gave gallatin fits on the boards, though I thought GC battled despite no post players. Gallatin looked very young to me. Looking at the program the sisters are just freshmen and sophmores. They also started a 8th grader. Future looks bright.

Oldham is getting healthier now. I would take Oldham in a close one.

Seen GC a few times and they can put a spurt on you in a hurry. 4 to 5 ball handlers and shooters at a time on the floor.

Thought OC had a good game plan just didnt have as many scorers as GC

Good point on Gallatin shooting. Scouting this game the margin could of been 50 if GC's coach wanted it to be. Pulled off the press early and subbed alot.

I see Walton over break and think they are the best and most balanced team. Then I think Owen has beaten then at Owen. South and Anderson are very talented and hard to deal with. So I think you summed it up best madman.

Just a early opinion as I have seen a few games from each team. Hopefully I see more of them and my opinion could change for what it's worth. 1 South Oldham- Whitfield can create havoc on both ends. Needs their role players to hit shots and Whitfield and Dye stay out of foul trouble. Very good defensively and playing better lately. 2 Anderson- McKee and Brown compliment each other well and are tough to handle in the paint. Cann's length and shooting add to that. 3. Owen- Gayheart can dominate games and makes her teammates better. ALL players can shoot the ball. Solid defensively. Might be the best half court team offensively. 4. Walton- Big inside. Sandlin has stepped it up. They play smart 5. Simon Kenton- Quick guard that can shoot in Stepheson and Owings. Good defensively 6. Collins- As Wells goes they go. Cardwell is a very nice player 7. Gallatin- Young and can shoot. On a hot night may be ahead of Collins 8 Oldham- Missing Melton and struggles defensively 9. Grant- physical and improved 10. Trimble- havent seen them. A guess at this point. Good luck to all the girls. As mentioned 1-4 are interchangeable and possibly 5-8

Agreed FBD. Whitfield is a dominant player on both ends. First look at Gallatin this year and they looked young. Checked the roster and it showed what I assumed. The future looks bright though as I was impressed with Gallatin's young players and shooting ability from the perimeter. I think they could give some teams fits if they make the region depending on the match up. South was a tough match up as they had no answer for Whitfield as their roster showed they were 5"7 and below. Looks like they tried to double down and help but the South role players stepped up and made shots and they were doubling with small players. I think Gallatin and SK or Oldham could be a interesting matchup.

Trimble is well coached and will bounce back.

Collins will be a tough out again in the region. If everyone had returned may have had a change to make a strong challenge to win the region, but will be tough to beat as always. Coach Condor and his staff do a great job IMO

Carroll will have Devine returning. Looks like from the khsaa stats last year she averaged around 27 ppg game. Other than that dont know much about them and didnt get a chance to see them play at Cooper.

Well said sometimes we see the few and let it unfairly represent the majority of fans. I am sure Walton has its fair share of knowledgeable fans. Fact is that never will all parents and fans agree with any coach that is just part of it and with the internet age message board chatter is also part of the culture today. Some may be scared off but WV still peaks the interest of many with the talent level returning from a region champioship and 8th region all a championship twice. On paper WV could be the favorite to win both the next two years. Also as you mentioned a very good location and chance to build a program.

You are right WOW! Coach Miller was all class and did a grea job! Do you think they will stay in house such as any of the current assistants or middle school coaches?

Also congrats to all the teams that made the region. It was very entertaining to watch. Was impressed with Owen co. also. Finally good luck to Walton and Coach Miller at Diddle.

Not only is coach Miller a very good coach he is a even better person and has shown nothing but class in spite of all the silly scrutiny played out online despite winning the A twice, region finals appearance and now a region championship in his 3 years. There is alot of talent there but sometimes alot of talent is hard to coach for various reasons. WV should be proud to have some a classy person who is also a good coach.

Granted I have seen Anderson only a hanful of times this year and last year, but from what I have seen I do think they are better this year. Seems like they already have things figured out. I still think they will be cutting the nets down in Warsaw this year. You are right though Mr. A sometimes girls are better when they are younger than when they get older for various reasons. i think it depends on the individual kid IMO.
