  1. Stand corrected on Johnson, I forgot. I hope Lamar becomes a Wildcat also! But Kentucky is in the best conference in college football (IMO). I believe the speed in the SEC is the most comparable to the NFL in college football year in out. Kentucky facilities are more than capable for the development to the NFL. The strength and conditioning coach at Kentucky came from the NFL. The defensive coordinator spent many years in the NFL, critic of Coach Browns play call or schemes or not? He knows what it takes to get to the NFL and stay there. Coach Smith most likely has limited experience with the NFL, but I am not going to get on this message board and say the Coach Smith does not know what he is doing. I think he is a great player; IMO him choosing a school because they have sent me kids to the NFL shouldn't be the deciding factor on his decision. He has the physical skills to get there but making the NFL has a lot to do with character and drive. With all things considered I believe if he went to Kentucky and performed well enough in the SEC to become an NFL caliber player then he will have just a good of shot as anywhere else if not better than most schools.
  2. If you can play in the NFL they will find you. Of course the somes nations best programs will produce the some of the best and NFL starters more so than less sucessful schools. Kentucky will never be on that level if they can't get the top in state players. Michah Johnson got drafted for example, so its not that it's impossible coming from UK. GM's and owners in the NFL want players that can play regardless of where they went to school. Teams like USC and Flordia do not have some secret linebacker drill that puts kids in the NFL, they have the option of recruting and landing the best talent out of high school.
  3. West held Lewis to less than 100yrd. of total offense.
  4. Lewis has no answer to West Carters speed but the Loins upset West Carter last fall in Vanceburg 14-6.
  5. Correct Mason is loaded with talent. I was commenting more on the fact that Mason features Gilbert more than any of their many talents on offense. I was just pointing out that Bond shut Gilbert down in the match up between the two players. With Gilbert and Bond both being very nice players.
  6. Great game in Maysville tonight. West had 3 turnovers which lead to three Mason touchdowns. On a side note Bond from West showed up big at Corner tonight holding Gilbert to only one reception and a non-factor in Masons offense.
  7. The score in this game was 18-12 Mason going into the fourth last year at West. West is only giving up 23yds per game in the air this season and 11.2 total points per game. Mason is more than able of blowing West out but West is an improved team that has speed that come match up with Mason. West is a couple of plays of being 7-0 with close losses to Russell and Fairveiw. If West can play their A game I think West will give Mason all they want, and an upset is not a ridiculous idea. I think it will come down to how well Mason's Defense plays this Friday.
  8. The Comets were up 30-0 at the half. Fleming scored 6 near the end of the game. Next up for the Comets is Mason Co. Mason is a good ball team but the Comets have been running on all cylinders the last 2 games.
  9. Yes. It used to be only 11 at the national camp, but I think they have expanded to many more athletes now.
  10. Nike Elite 11 Quarterback Camp is for serious D-1 prospects. 96% of Elite 11 Ouarterbacks attend BCS schools. 52% of Elite 11 Quarterbacks have went on to become starters at there respective schools. I think that Rowan County's QB attened this camp last summer as a Junior. (or so I was told) I have had a chance to watch him play this fall. He is very talented, 6'4" athletic and throws a good ball. I am sure his rating is not impressive, but he is getting alot of serious attention for D-1 schools. http://www.elite11.com/#link_fact_sheet
  11. I hope you are right. West has had the talent but choked in big games the past two years.
  12. Fairveiw has a very aggressive defense that is physical and likes to blitz. Raceland offense loves to use the screen and short passing "the system" type football. That'll style of offense can be big trouble for aggressive defenses. I think the major factor in the game is will Fairveiws talented and physical DL be able to create pressue to disrupt Racelands passing game.
  13. If that ever happens it'll be by chance or luck. In which time I would that we would be a much better team cause of a kid that moved in. My point was that some teams seem to have luck every year or so with random kids coming into their programs, and some teams are ever so lucky to have 2,3,4,5 as many as 6 maybe even more just randomly come to there programs. Oh yes in addition! Huntington is about 50min away from Olive Hill. Sure would be awful hard to make it to class on time.
  14. Demographically speaking nothing. Poor economy, destroyed by floods. Not sure what your point is? But it is nice competeing with kids that are from families that are from a small town.
  15. West is very respectable considering they are home grown team. Was more impressed with Fairveiw than Russell in the 2 losses that West has. But also was impressed with Raceland in the Grid. With all things considered I'll go with Raceland in this battle, it'll mean me more to the kids at Raceland.
  16. How do you lose when you have over 500 yds rushing in a game?
  17. Cody Stamper at West Carter has great speed and ability.
  18. West was in the redzone 6 times with only one TD. Can't expect to win, when that happens.
  19. 7 West Carter 5 Fleming 3 Mercer 2 Leslie 1 Corbin TB West Carter
