  1. How does realignment break college football further, in your opinion?
  2. The discussion that I heard was that you'd only play one pod power per year. Example UK would play Bama but not Auburn, Texas but not OU and A&M but not LSU in a given year. That said, the Pods could be completely different.
  3. The most discussed proposal so far has been 4 team scheduling pods. You play the other three in your pod yearly, then two from each of the other three pods...for a 9 game conference schedule. Under this plan every two years you would play every team in the conference and every four years you would play each team in the league both home and away. How the pods are divided up will be interesting. I expect UK to be in a pod with SC, UGA and Florida. Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Alabama and Auburn together. Ole Miss, Mississippi State, LSU and Texas A&M in a pod. Then Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri in the final pod. That would put two "Traditional" powers in each pod.
  4. Texas and Oklahoma officially asked for an invitation to join the league today. SEC President's to meet Thursday to discuss, it is not clear yet if there will be a vote on Thursday or not. The Texas/OU letter states they want to join the SEC on July 1, 2025.
  5. Worst name in professional sports? Evidently named after traffic statues in Cleveland.
  6. The legendary Florida State Coach announced that he has a terminal illness and is "At Peace." Coach Bowden was one of the best and had a reputation, especially early during the program building years, of playing anyone at any place. Prayers for continued peace and comfort.
  7. If the conference stayed divided East/West Bama, Auburn probably go east. It would make more sense to divide the conference North/South. North- Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Georgia, South Carolina South- Texas, A&M, LSU, Bama, Ole Miss, Miss St., Auburn, Florida
  8. It will take 3 or 4 seasons for things to level out and some normalcy to settle in. We are going to see insanely high and low numbers for kids for the first few years. UNC partnering with their athletes to allow UNC Logo and licensed items to be sold is the smartest step that I've seen so far. I thought that wasn't going to be allowed, but if it is...every school needs to do that.
  9. I had high hopes for this, but it was just...meh. I don't forsee a time that I'd ever want to watch it again.
  10. I think it is currently on HBOMAX if you have that. It's definitely worth your time. Don't watch a cable version with commercials, they drag it out way too long.
  11. Maybe it should only impact the star athletes, but that is a pure fantasy. Every 5 Star, 4 Star, 3 Star and a few delusional 2 Star athlete will be expecting to make money from the moment they sign their LOI. During the recruiting process it won't just be the QB, RB or PG expecting to get "Paid." Every recruit will want to know what they can make if they come to Lexington, Columbus or Knoxville. Players Lounges, Training Facilities, Weight Rooms, Dorm rooms will matter less and less on recruiting visits. Each school will need to have "A Guy" that will meet with players during their official visit and lay out their personal marketing plan, endorsements and and what is available. Local businesses will be squeezed for money, cars and other benefits to be offered during recruiting and it won't just be for the Star QB. The 4 Star left tackle is going to want a new truck, the 5 star DB is going to want 6 figure endorsement deal ready if they are going to sign and the 4 Star Stretch 4 is going to need Tesla Plaid promised just to entertain your school. There will be no end to what schools will "Offer" but what will get crazy is that they'll have to find enough money around town that every recruit gets a taste, if not they will go where they can. Players will need agents or attorneys to help them sort through all of this mess. Once there are those guys involved looking to get their percentage, what's best for the players will truly be out the door. Will kids get paid? Yes. Do they deserve the chance to get paid? Yes. Will this be infinitely more corrupt? Yes. Will the rich get richer? In some cases, but big market schools are in a better situation now than ever.
  12. I love to crush up lays in my beans!!! Yum!!!
  13. I wanted to drive one of those big yellow, Tonka Truck looking, dump trucks on a construction site.
  14. Baked Beans and either Fried Potatoes w/Onion or fresh warm Potato Salad!
  15. Amy Schumer and Jim Carey are both hard passes for me...I can't stand either one of them. Washington, Hanks, Costner are three actors that have rarely, if ever, let me down. I can't think of an actress right off, that I feel as strongly about.
  16. I'm not sure season ticket holders would be a lock to get tickets. I'm sure some would, maybe a lot. That said, I think any on campus scenario would include more tickets for the opposing team than a normal home game.
  17. If it is a national playoff game on campus, it will also be priced out for 99.9% of fans. Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State or whoever is hosting will not be allowed to just fill it up with season ticket holders. Visiting teams will get more tickets than normal and corporate tickets will be made available to those footing the bill for the games. There would be a homefield advantage for sure, but it won't be as it is for a typical home game. I think semi-finals should be at a neutral site, but I won't be mad if they aren't. I like the 4 highest ranked champions and the next 8 model. I'm completely against automatic qualifiers. I don't want to see some 6-6 or 7-5 Conf USA team in over a 10-2 Power 5 team, that deserves to be in.
  18. The SEC would probably love to be able to host a couple of games each season. Why would they hate it? I know everyone is going to say, because they don't want to take a chance on playing up north in the cold. But how many teams really want to roll into Tuscaloosa or Athens and face that atmosphere either. That said, I don't see the semis ever being on campus. It's probably fairest to the teams to be at a neutral site. Imagine if college basketball playoffs was played on campus and you had to play the first round of the final four at Cameron, Rupp or Allen Fieldhouse...everyone would be screaming about how unfair that it was.
  19. Wasn't he at Boyle as an assistant? Was it when Baby J was there?
  20. I think 12 is a great number of teams. I love the first round being played on college campuses. This will all be great until a team ranked 8th or 9th gets passed over for a guaranteed mid-major slot to get in, then everyone will lose their minds...lol!
  21. I'm not sure. I heard it went over the pole, but the radio guys said there was a 6 man crew and the ump was looking right at it.
