Covington Catholic at Belfry Predictions/Updates
Jumper_Dad replied to MaddenCurse44's topic in KY Football (High School)
I think he was part of the ball being put on the ground 5 or 6 times last week. He may be trying to do too much, he's too good to put the ball on the ground this much. -

This seems to be the short explanation. The University concluded that while Mack was a victim of an extortion attempt by former assistant coach Dino Gaudio, Mack failed to follow University guidelines, policies, and procedures in handling the matter. The sanctions imposed upon Coach Mack are unrelated to the extortion attempt itself and the ongoing NCAA process. https://www.si.com/college/louisville/basketball/mack-suspended-six-games

Chris Mack suspended 6 games by the University of Louisville. The story doesn't really say the specific reason for the suspension in this story, just that the University President was upset with Mack. In a surprising twist to the current saga surrounding the University of Louisville basketball program, head coach Chris Mack has been suspended by the university. The school announced a six-game suspension, which is a total of 20 days without pay, to start the season for Mack, who is beginning his fourth season as the head coach at U of L. https://247sports.com/college/louisville/Article/Louisville-suspends-basketball-coach-Chris-Mack-for-six-games-169737710/

This story says that they were complicit in securing the FedEx deal. NIL money is reportedly going to flow toward prized recruit Emoni Bates as part of an agreement between the University of Memphis and FedEx, according to multiple reports from sources... The NCAA bans any pay-for-play, as well as using NIL as a recruitment lever, so Memphis being complicit in a deal to funnel cash from FedEx to Bates – and fellow recruit Jalen Duren – would appear to qualify as a violation. http://kentsterling.com/2021/08/26/does-emoni-bates-commitment-to-memphis-violate-ncaa-nil-rules-if-so-does-it-matter/

Who didn't see this coming? 😆 There are really only two NCAA rules for NIL, you can't "pay to play" or reward players for on field performance and you can't use NIL deals as a recruiting inducement. Memphis it seems had a FedEx deal in place for their top two recruits before they committed. Come to Memphis and here is an endorsement from FedEx ready to go. This may be the first school to violate this rule. But they won't be the last.

Due to Covid, scoreboard giving Pulaski the victory.

ACC, PAC, B1G Alliance...what does it actually accomplish outside of creating a voting block when Playoff or NCAA issues are discussed?
-
I don't think Belfry's pass defense is as bad as it seemed last night. Pulaski's offense is all about timing not necessarily about a WR beating his defender. Polston was hitting precision passes on slants and quick hitters all night. I think credit should go to Pulaski's passing game moreso than blaming Belfry's defense. Pulaski is going to pass like that on nearly every team on their schedule thus season. My biggest concern for Belfry's defense was the lack of pressure they were able to put on the QB.

Turnovers didn't help Belfry for sure, but that is not why they lost this game. Pulaski was just better all around than they were tonight.

If there was no gun, then this is probably amended to trespassing charges (at most) on those that actually went into the house after being thrown out or asked to leave. A couple of other players were "ID'd" and investigated that weren't even there that night. Let's let this play put and see what the facts are. If the players are facing court and charges aren't dismissed then they probably need to sit out until it is resolved. I heard today that one of the witnesses/accusers is now refusing to cooperate and that it a parent of one of the students that is pushing for charges.

Pulaski came out firing on all cylinders after going down 7 to 0 early. QB Polston was pin point accurate early on and Pulaski was able to have as much success on the ground as in the air. Dixon was tough early scoring both of Belfry's Touchdowns but cramps took him out a couple of times tonight. Belfry by my count, put the ball on the ground 7 times with Pulaski recovering at least 4 of them.

Final from Somerset.
