Halftime score, Cincinati Lasalle 7 Highlands 6. Lasalle dominates the first quarter, Highlands grabbed the momentum in the second. Good game so far.

The way the past few weeks have gone, and considering there are still injury issues, I am not expecting a Highlands win against SK. That said, a loss to SK while unpleasant, is hardly anything to lose sleep over at this point in the season. The 5a schedule is much more important and hopefully they are healthy and all hands on deck for that run.

The SK coaches did very little substituting during the game. The same handful of players were making all of the plays on O and D. Nice try, but your excuse is lame.

I will agree that the keeper should have had one of them. On the other, Highlands had enough pressure on to force the errant plays and the result was a goal . Well earned by the pressure applied.

I never said I was mad. I said I don't blame them for doing it. I also said that Highlands will be back, very soon. Poking the bear is fun. While the fun lasts.

Ryle coaches exorcising some butt hurt demons from seasons past as they on side kick with a 28 point lead and then go for 2 at 34-0 to get the running clock early. Not that I blame them for getting in their licks on HHS while they are able, but Highlands will go back to being Highlands fairly soon and then that little kid down the street will be taking down the big boys once again.

No. The player doing the kickoffs is not a kicker, it is just something he has to do because he is the only one who has been able to kick it over 30 yards downfield in a fairly straight line.

Good game all around by the Birds. Hollingsworth and Ahfeld both looked good running the offense. Ahfeld is a real threat when running the ball, Hollingsworth beginning to look comfortable behind his line. #26 got some work as running back and was impressive. He pulled/carried a CC defender for 10 yards on one run. The only issue was a lack of any kicking game. How can there be not one freshman player capable of even attempting an extra point? Had to go for 2 every time, even when the game was well in hand.

I was impressed that an outsized group of HHS linemen on both sides of the ball held their own against a huge SC lin that was able to rotate in fresh big bodies at will. I came into this game dreading what was to come. I left very, very impressed by my Birds!

Usually 20, so I guess a starter or 2 may have to be on the field for part of the game, but it could be done by bringing up a few JV players for the game too.

There is nothing to be gained for either team in a game like this. The better team's coach should let the 2nd and 3rd team varsity players start and play the full 80 minutes. This gets them plenty of touches and help with conditioning for later in the season. If the JV is available, let them play a varsity game. It has been done, so being on the varsity roster is not an issue.

It was 8-6 at the half. Highlands went up 16-6 late in the 3rd on a pick 6, not sure who picked it. Cooper scored to make it 16-12 Highlands with about 5 minutes left in the game. Highlands could get nothing going on offense and a fake punt came up 2 yards short at about midfield. Cooper came up with big 3rd and 4th down plays when they needed them, Highlands put them on the 5 yard line with a roughing penalty with 55 seconds left. 3 plays later Cooper punches it in. Highlands tried 3 long passes, all failed to connect, game over. Highlands lacked fire after the first drive, Cooper played a heck of a game.

It appears that Coach W and his staff have things headed in the right direction after several rebuilding years for the Ladybirds!

Not the way NDA would like to perform just prior to a very tough Zionsville Invitational this weekend. They could easily come home with 3 straight losses as they head into some very important local competition. Does anyone have any first hand info about the game last night?
