  1. If nothing else losing Dale is losing a lot and yes I know W is a good coach but Dale is and has always has been, very special coach!

Losing Dale is going to hurt HHS and if you all at HHS don't believe that, then you are all being silly. He can't and won't be replaced and you know that as well as we do!

So this yr is it. If CC ever has a shot at beating HHS its this yr because of the coaching change.

And if Coach W beats CC by 3 or more tds each game then what?

I guess hanging your hat on the fact that Dale is gone is your chance to beat HHS, but the good lord help ya if they dont.

  2. Congrats to Wienrich on getting the game. Possibly getting on ESPN is/could be HUGE again.

So playing on ESPN isn't just "Oscar Myers Baloney" but "HUGE" now?

Maybe Ryle will "step up" (opps, theres that phrase again) and play HHS again in the near future, HHS owes them one btw. HHS will most probably be looking for a new series after this one yr deal with this 8A Fl team so hopefully a Boone or Kenton Cty team will call Coach W asking for a game.

  3. I have never ever ever said I don't like Highlands.

What I don't like are when SOME, not all but Some of their fans come on here and act as if they are going above and beyond with everything they do. I love watching that entire program. What they've done is awesome. I've gone to a couple of their games even last year and had a rooting interest due to knowing some players and starters personally.

Never said I hate them. I just don't over exaggerate what they are doing or the opponents they are playing as if they are the top in the nation etc.

    Huge difference.

I've gotten on some Trinity fans also when they come off sounding very arrogant. Doesn't mean I don't root for T in games like this. It means some fans need to b knocked down a notch or two from their pedestal now and then.

No you didn't. You just gave us all the answers we needed with this statement. Despise would be a better word than hate even though it means the same.

Bottom line and fact, HHS and Trinity are the two most storied programs in the history of the state of KY and its you job to keep their fans in line. Dont need any more BGP cops, got enough of them already. LOL

    Next.

  4. Im with you. I love when schools play teams from other states. It was misunderstood from the begining what we were saying. It was in response to the Stepping up comment was all they tried to make the team into something they are not is all.

So if this team is what they are portrayed to be, Fl largest of the largest and they beat the heck out of HHS on national tv then will that define "stepping up" for you?

    -or-

You know something that I don't and you are very confident that HHS will beat this team with ease.

  5. it's not hard to understand. They get great publicity for playing on ESPN. Who wouldn't want that?

Put Cooper vs HHS on ESPN and I bet they'd take it also.

    This.

I haven't seen Iam4thecats in this thread. He told me to call him out if HHS landed a team outside of KY and he also said that the national exposure and tv thing is way overated and means nothing. He must be busy getting his new team ready for the upcoming season.

I am sure glad that Hellbird thinks like me and agrees that the TV exposure is important to exposing kids and programs and anybody in their right mind would jump all over it.

C'mon Cats, ya got your ears on son? C'mon Cats, Cats?

  6. I just did the USA Today Head to Head from last year and it had Collins beating Christopher Columbus 28-17. For some reason it wouldn't pull Highlands up in the data base. It also had CovCath winning by 1pt...So I guess we'll see...:idunno:

Well maybe then the argument that FL has the best HS football in the USA could just that, an argument and more than likely a myth.

Perhaps some of the best football teams in the country come from KY. Three teams come to mind from KY that have proven they can play with the best but states like FL, OH, TX and CA have anywhere from 25 to 100 teams each that are equal if not better than KY 3 best.

Bottom line is HHS advertised for a game for Wk 0 and nobody answered in KY. I was right when I said that HHS would not just be advertising in KY but nationwide because of obvious reasons. Another team from FL answered the email, they talked and found a date that worked for both schools. Kudos to CC for answering the call and agreeing to play.

? for all the naysayers? Why in the world would an 7-5 team from Southern Fl want to travel to a little town and school in KY to play a 20 time state champion in Oct? I would love to hear the reasons from anyone outside of HHS with no dog in this fight.

  7. Are people on here really trying to down play an 8A Florida team? I guarantee they would pound 99% of teams in Ky..You people kill me...:idunno:

I agree. There have been so many people on here telling HHS to go play teams from OH,Fl, TX and CA and see how you do. Yes, these states play arguably the best HS football in the country.

But teams like HHS, Trinity and Bowling Green have shown they can compete and beat the top programs in their respective states.

With how tough it is for HHS to get games scheduled I can see more and more of the out of state opponents not by choice but by reality.

Trinity has been forced to do it now, HHS and BG are also beginning to follow suit. I feel like these teams win consistency because of their strength of schedules. Again, reality

  8. Looks like another Florida team has answered AD Mueller's nationwide email looking for a game.

Apparently this time it is an 8A HS from the Sunshine State looking for some exposure on ESPN. Sounds like details are being worked out so no names allowed for now.

The peeps in the know will probably want to start a thread when this game is announced, should be for some good reading

  9. I checked the KHSAA website and the only team looking for a game on August 22 is East Central from Indiana. That is in some bowl game. They also requested a second year on the contract, which would be tough because this is the second year of game cycle this year in KY. One thing is for certain, scheduling is tough enough without having to deal with it being a back end year of contracts, plus having to deal with folks not wanting to play you.

One note also is that I did not see Highlands looking for a game on the KHSAA website.

Perhaps there are two sites, one for the general public and then one for the coaches with membership access with updated facts and info.

Some conflicting info here, can anyone clear this up?

  10. Sounds like you need to be the AD then instead of Mueller because he isn't taking all your advice. He advertised in KY. We shall see who if any agrees to play. If it is a powerhouse from out of state you come back and remind me. Until then I have Muellers e-mail on my side.

I never said he didnt and isnt looking for a game in KY. Iam sure if you were an OH, IN, TN and many other states coach you would have gotten the same email. I highly doubt this email only went out to KY schools.

It will be ok Coach, HHS will get a game but Iam sure they appreciate your concerns.

Obviously your team already has WK 0 filled or you would be answering that email.

  11. It is going to be VERY hard for Highlands to add anybody week 0 or week 7 because its a 1 year deal and 99% of people already have their schedule. This is the reason Dale advertised on the list serve. He doesn't know who MIGHT have one of those openings. This is why all the posturing about ESPN games and whats best for Highlands is B.S. Playing anyone they can find is better than nothing or he wouldn't be advertising like that.

You are correct in regards to 99% already having their schedule full. Problem is there is only about 9% that even want a part of HHS and there in lies the real issue. Those 9% are playing for championships each yr and they have made business decisions to schedule accordingly.

This is why they will have to look outside of KY if they want a game unless one of the 90% want to tell their "warm up" gamer goodbye in an effort to better their program in the long run.

There are some very formidable opponents out there within that 90% that are doing themselves no good by playing the easy win game instead of doing whats best for their programs and upping their opponent. JMO

Teams back out of their obligations all of the time so if Team B would tell Team Y that they want out to go play Team A then I would like to think Team Y would understand. I would bet Team A would pay Team B's pentaly to Team Y if there is such a thing. Well, at least against HHS teams back out

IMO, you are way off base with the bolded comment.

  12. Maybe now with new head coach, I wonder if the Buebirds will start playing in preseason "Bowl" games again?

I do know that the HHS crowd travels well and the locals tend to come out to see what the fuss is all about when they come to town

Seems like if I were a sponsor of one of these games I would be calling Coach Weinrich.

  13. Your arrogant opinion aside Dale Mueller did in fact advertise this opening on the Kentucky coaches list serve.

Pls name or list the teams that HHS would benefit from playing in NKY year in and year out

My guess is HHS will be playing either a 5A or 6A Lou/Lex team or someone from another state to fill this spot.

Sorry that my opinion sounds arrogant but Iam only stating the facts of their dominance in NKY over the last 10 yrs.
