  1. Heard it was a fantasic game until the end. Apparently, I have been told by someone there that Coach Stowers took a time out late in the 4th, did a bee line for one of his girls and double open fist chest shivered a girl because she didnt follow his instructions. Heard the girl starting crying and ultimately she was the same girl that called the timeout late in the game that SK didnt have. I guess she had the last laugh on the coach. BTW, I didnt think you were allowed to touch kids anymore in sports.

  2. Feb 15, 8 inches of snow on the ground and we are talking about Highlands Football. Hopefully this will last until August. Life is so grand. 20n10

Does Highlands pay people to talk about them all year long. This is crazy to give this school this much attention. I have heard of rewarding a school for doing the right things in life. But to talk about a program for weeks all over something bad that has tainted their progam. I dont get it. :idunno:

  3. With the same amount of carries he would have posted 3200 yards, that is very impressive.

And of course that would never happen at Highlands. They have never and probably never will put all of their eggs in one basket. Their talent at QB suggests a more balanced attack between running and passing. I dont even know who the last HHS running back was to ever rush for over 2000 yds in one season. Did Frisk do it?

  4. Just talked with a true "fan" and he told me there are some big surprises on for tomorrow night. I think he has me bringing the "suprisee".

I heard the same thing over the weekend. I hope that their is a solid fan base there from both schools for this game because the surprises are going to be memorable for NCC and lasting for HHS.:fire:

  5. Finally, someone else with the Bullseye on their back. These games are very dangerous for #1 Ranked teams, whether it is state wide or in the entire USA. Reason being, HHS has been on top in KY what 17 times. They have been there done that, they have won when maybe they shouldnt have and we all know they have also lost when they certainly shouldnt have. I think the HHS vs CovCath past matchups should confirm my comments. Every win streak must come to an end, someone, someplace, someday. Colerain at Colerain, Friday 9-5-08. Go BIRDS.

  6. Miss O'Day is #15 , #12 is Aleyx Schulte one of the three D1 recruits on the team . She will attend Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville Alabama , Kaela Freppon will attend Xavier and Annie Gruenschlager will attend Morehead .

Negative. Alexa Abner is #15 and yes Aleyx is #12. Not sure of O'Day # though.

NCC kicks off a little NKY action tonite at ND. Just for fun game. Yeah right. There will be more bodies hitting the floor than a WWF match. :thumb:

  7. Has Tony ever actually played a down on varsity, Im not trying to be a wise guy, But I've never seen a stat, or heard a story.

Get use to it at Highlands. At least for the next 3 yrs. The days of 2 yr starting QB's just came to a screeching halt. Sr -Tony goes this year, Jr-Bardo goes next year and Soph -Abner goes the third year. Dale is licking his chops with this threesome of QB's. :thumb:

  8. Someone asked earlier in the thread if there would be a house cleaning from top to bottom within the Girls program. Reading some of the posts it appears there will be one new assistant but can anyone close to the situation confirm whether or not Mr. Dawn starts with new blood beginning with the Frosh and works his way up.

  9. :ylsuper::ylsuper:The SK Freshman team is a great team and will continue to grow as a group. These kids have been together for a long time as friends, team mates and rivals. They are now all together to make this team what it is. I just wish the people who are focusing on the backs would realize that your team is only as stong as you weakest link. This team showed that there is not a weak link. The backs and recievers are great athletes but could not have done anything if it was not for the O line to do the blocking and hole opening for them. The artical in the Kenton County recorder gave the credit to Crane, Baldwin, Lawerence, Winkler, Deters and Williams. No mention of the O lines right side Rice, Aubrey or left side of Mangold and Schwabe. Again without a line it does not matter how good of a backfield you have. But these kids do not want credit for themselves they understand that football is a true team effort. They will be together and make themselves state champions in the near future.:ylsuper::flame:
That must be the year that the Catholics all go to their own league and leave the NKY teams alone. Great year guys but you are reaching a bit imo. :D
  10. Does the name Clay Cecil sound familiar?

Yeah, but this one kid being labled as a QB means that position is the only place he will play. This kid was one of the leading taklers last year in the 7th & 8th grade league. Why not use this kid like all of the other frosh that were moved up on maybe a couple special teams. He was once again the only player that didn't play more than 2 or 3 plays two weeks in a row. When your team is up the way they were on Sat, all players should play somewhere.

Jay Draper was a QB from JR football up to Freshman, then they turned him into a pretty good WR. As far as playing time for frosh at the JV level does the name Stein, Hurtt, Ball, Jurgens, Fitz and so on mean anything, they all were asked to play up from frosh to JV. Not one of them had much playing time. Dale knows what is right for the TEAM. He will move plyers around to better the team

Wrong. Dale has never played a QB on defense.

  11. Holmes put up 33 on Dixie. You got to give CCH defense some credit. I will admit that the QB was very good, but he had 15 carries for 10 yards. He got hit hard early and kept limping off the field. Holmes is a very improved team. CCH has kept two good QB's in check (BW's and Holmes QB) so at what point is NKY going to give them respect.

Thats easy, when they stop Cecil and Highlands. :D

  12. I agree. He pitched against my son in B league and he was very good though not unhittable. B league though is not varsity baseball. B league is not FROSH baseball.

Yeah he might not of been unhitable but I bet he was unbeatable. This is the missing link for Highlands future baseball along with a couple of other sure bets in Thomas Towles who will be a junior starter this year and Brandon Roller a left hander who will be missing this year due to prior comittments. And if you did indeed witness the Brown kid this past year I'll bet you were thinking "My God, I hope this kid has good control, if not dial 911", I would be willing to bet this kid will be talked about this year in the 9th region as a tough one to figure out. Looks like good days ahead for the Birds.

  13. Maybe you know someone who could ask Dale to ask him, say maybe, you. Surely if you are so sure that Faust is the answer to the "problems" that you are posting it on here, you can work up the gumption to call Dale and suggest it to him. I mean after all, that's more likely to get the "problem" solved than grousing about it on an internet site isn't it?

Perhaps it has already been discussed. By the way, the word "gumption" is only for the intimidated ones and I will never include that word in my vocabulary. :scared:

  14. Seems to be a trend at Ft. Thomas schols. Mike Code teaches at HHS but yet is the head coach at Brossart and seems to have our number when we play them in basketball.

Maybe so, but the point here is Coach Faust is NCC QB/Asst Off Coord who helped design a "BALANCED ATTACK" Offense the past 2 yrs and grooms QB mechanics like no other. And when you don't have that at Highlands it makes you sorta scratch you head. And before all the "They don't play anybody and just let them play HHS schedule" it doesnt really matter if you know anything about football. You still have to call the correct plays and when you do you must have confidence in yourself and in your players that they are capable of executing it based on sound instruction. I just did'nt see that happening this year in Ft.Thomas.
