Apparently the smoke should flow here very soon. Seeing on other social sights something has been decided. But who knows lol. I mean it’s Thursday.

Watched for a little. Team can play and score. Where this team has come from just 3/4 years ago. Yes, have some talent but they seem to play well together. Love watching on their YouTube channel. Who does the announcing for Highlands? Very passionate fella.

This has already gotten crazy, will ESPN be covering the announcement?
I know a guy that knows a guy that could text a guy to see if that guy can do that!

For crying out loud, would someone just announce it already...
Well it is Monday so maybe. Or not this Monday. My understanding interviews still going on.

This is becoming comical with players being that involved. I mean this is this new coaches livelihood right. And they are going to take a “recommendation” or a “I like him” from a high school kid. Cmon Man!!!

I’m sorry but I guess I’m old school but I too find it weird that a “senior to be player” is on the hiring, recommendation, football coach......whatever you want to call the committee. But whatever. Losing its credibility imo.

Could you please spare two minutes to share the committee member names?
Matt Bertasso and Wes Caldwell? Those 2 I have heard for sure. I got a text that said possibly a football player. To quote another poster on here “I spit my fruit loops out” when I read that one. Not 100% sure on others. I’m sure there has to be what, 5 or 6 people. Agree with Sweep, JOAT would be a very good committee member to have been reached out to, to help in the recommendation process. Heck maybe he is one and not telling us.

How can a decision be made if the job posting has not closed? Asking for a friend.
See, that tells you how much I know. I was just assuming all applicants have submitted their resumes and were being reviewed. I thought I read on here where they were down to like a dozen or so people. Someone is messing with me I guess. And didn’t Duece rule someone out....in his opinion. Idk, just bored watching these games on TV.

I think TFVH hangs with some Blueboy fans and he is curious if they have any info.
We did get Dumpster wings tonight from PeeWees and nothing other than “hey blueduck” was said. I’m guessing we all find out Monday.

I’ll tell you what’s amazing is this thread has about a view per min since it was started. That’s saying a lot imo.
Had a Dr appt last week and he was asking for a friend. Told him what I knew.....nothing btw, well no more than on here but I’m still “super excited”.

“Super excited” is not a word I would use.
30-28 over the last 5 years, I’ll stick with “super excited”. Lol!

Who do the Highlands faithful want and expect to be the next coach?
Honestly I want a Highlands guy. Someone that understands the traditions behind the program from community and school support. One that truly understands how the football program was built. One that can be a leader. One that has had success at the same position or equivalent at another institution. As HHS goes, so goes HHS football. One in the same when it comes to success. From the people I’m hearing that have shown interest, I am super excited with a few of them. Hopefully plays out like I want but anyone that fits the bill above works for me. I’m guessing we’ll know by Monday.

So it’s Charlie Barr ? Charlie Barr is the new head coach? Or did I read through the posts too quickly?
Yeah, maybe go back and read through again

Charlie Barr came up with the idea, and the can isnt a goal or a gimmick. It's a way to build excitement and momentum following a great play.
Charlie Barr came up with what? The Cookie Monster thing?

I don’t have a problem with the Tin Can as I see it as something each team wants to do that distinguishes them from the other teams.
Usually one looks for something when those before you has something better than you. At Highlands you must at least achieve excellence before you revert to a gimmick to try and feel special about yourself.
I guess everyone sets there own goals.
Cmon sweep. The tin can? Just stop! Lol

Train wreck? Based on social media of current players & recent players, it sure didn’t sound like they thought their program & experiences were a train wreck. And, the players who showed up at the Principal's office to express they were very upset with the decision of them getting a new coach doesn’t say train wreck either.
Yeah I heard the same but on a lot smaller scale as to what you are implying. And I get it, Coach W was a good coach and is a great school teacher, just not a great head coach. And as I read elsewhere, kids never tasted the championship win. I guessing the kids on the team whose siblings, uncles, or parents who won in the past are ready for a change. Everyone is ready. It’s just time!

Right, but having a D1 QB and 3 big FBS skill guys that play both ways helps you win a ton of games very quickly. Culture and coaching is important, but everything changes when you have elite players.
I thought there was a massive difference on the line of scrimmage between the 2 teams. Skill guys may be comparable, but CCH was significantly better up front and at QB.
Now there’s a novel concept. A lot of “people” have been talking about whether that same thing would help Highlands or not. Interesting! The simple things.

Is this now 3 of the last 4 head coaches at Highlands who have been pushed out?
Great programs set their standards high so if a coach doesn’t or can’t reach that bar, then changes are made. I mean, heck, even CCH has had 5 different coaches in the same time frame. Just sayin!

You are correct. But keep in mind that it’s over a 35 year span. So....

You are correct on that. Problem is it took his job being on the line to try and win at all costs. 2 losing seasons in your head coaching career at Highlands is not getting you more time off this one game.
You would think not!

Whoever ends up getting the HC position, I would love to see someone like Kevin Siple call the offense.
