You're right. He just had two top 50 players transfer in from other schools for two of his three years. Since LexCath won state this year, he probably will have to wait for a strong class, this years freshman class at LCA, to mature. Also, Fairview was rebuilding lasty year. They are not booming, they went boom. The talent in all sports is gone. It's rebuilding time at that school more than you would think. Recent success was great, but the honeymoon is over. Mark that down.

Most of them are pure quickness and heart. That's what Marty had and it seems like Blume has also. Hopefully the academic plague doesn't affect Blume. He should walk-on somewhere and show his true talent to the scouts that overlooked him. Same thing happened to TaShawn McBroom from Trinity and there will be others.

I agree with you mostly, but a new coach may not feel like that particular game is important to what it is he's trying to do. As a fan, most of us feel it is cowardly to back out, but for nthe coach that's in those shoes, alot of other factors other than what we see may contribute to that programs decision. Alcoa, being a TN powerhouse, hasn't put forth a logical reason to backing out, or at least by our standards.

For state championship purposes. As far as season play goes, if it doesn't rain, passing leagues can help determine some outcomes. I know it will help teams like Trinity this year with Coverdale coming back as offensive coordinator.

Trust me! Check rosters like FSU, UT, UF. They actually have guys in their backfields close to that size. Remeber, Warrick Dunn of the Atlanta Falcons is only 5'8 on a good day. Tamme is not a good example because 1: colleges can design defenses to benefit a smaller guys abilities, 2: Tamme will be a pro-bowl player someday if he stays healthy, 3: Rockcastle had to battle Ft. Thomas a week beforehand. Taking nothing away from that Boyle team, who could, but Reagan deserved a shot. If I were a D-1 coach, I would've picked him up. Regardless of the size, TOO MUCH TALENT TO PASS BY.

Well, in our defense, losing to Male could have been devistating because we don't go out there expecting to lose. Yeah, it happens, who doesn't lose. Alcoa may be in a rebuilding phase and needed to back out against a hoptown team that is supposed to be loaded this year. It's not being a chicken, it's getting in good with the program as a new coach in his first season. People are going to judge decisions based on who they're a fan of or their success in life. It really is terrible to be completely bias in a situation we know nothing about. How do we know he wasn't a last minute hire? Every coach has a goal and every team has decided not to play somebody else. There are some schools that what some may consider to be the best team or teams in KY don't want to even see on a football field. It's not that often that a KY team beat an out-of-state power.

What defensive formation did they seem to use the most? It's really hard to scout Hensley's offense, especially if he has alot of speed in it. The center and guards are the key, as well as the QB's eyes. To beat a Trinity team, I can almost imagine how detailed the coaching staff must be. Do they dress as many as you?

I'm not saying that it's right to back out at the last minute. I agree with you, that is simply wrong. But if you hire in a new coach, then obviously the situation differs than originally planned. It does pose problems, but for the program that is backing out, it may be the best thing. In PLD's case, it was.
