Owens came from Scott Co., to the Ramey House, his sister will be attending Morehead in the fall on a basketball scholarship, maybe he will try to follow her! Only time will tell.

Hey Shooter one disadvantage to this thought showed last night for the Elliott kids,Fatigue! They are flat busted & I do not look for todays contest to be to competitive. They have competed hared this week & have done well. Good luck to Vanhoose &his team in the tourney

I know Lincoln Co lost to the kids from Elliott Co yesterday & the kids from Elliott also beat this same group with Portwood, Vanhoose & Smart. I will try to find out about this for you

Stripes3 You are consistently on this site talking about helping with tourneys in N.Ky&CIncy&how you attend tourneys nationwide giving us your evaluations. This leads one to believe you truly enjoy the high school game & the kids that play it. However every chance you have you dish Elliott Co & their kids especially the Faulkner twins! This had me playing close attention to the thread about Evan Faulkner being hurt&you possibly wishing him well, a spedy recovery, keep your head up, or anything positive! NO!! not you, had this been another kid or team I'm sure your best regards would be there. Whats up MR TOURNAMENT? Do you have true concern for kids or is just some you do not have to much concern for. These are kids! Your sarcasim is not funny

The kids from Elliott are playing very well right now. Their team did add the boy from S Oldham & he has helped but has hurt them late in games as he tries to play gaurd way to much. Three kids are really stepping up & are playing the best on the team at this time.Tyler Maynard, Greene & Dustin Gilliam which is exactly what you need when you have a player like Evan out. Maynard playing a lot of point & doing a good job & busting 3's @ top of key if they do not come out on him.Greene & Gilliam are just Bulls under the boards and have really stepped up with some offensive production & playing good D.

Anyone going to watch any of the Blue Chip camp in Georgetown this week? How about you Shooterx3 or Stripes3?

Where are Russell, Ashland & Rowan from the 16th? What about Paintsville, JCC & Belfry among others from the 15th? Why do these teams not participate?

They looked very good all week. They started 3 Freshemen,1 Soph & 1 JR, the only possible Sr starter did not come to camp due to family illness. I can see them giving Paintsville or anyone else a run in the 15th this year. Look out 15th as the next 4 years may be SVHS to lose! I like the make up of their team better than Paintsville as SV kids seem to like each other & play good team ball. These kids know how to play the game.

JBS is playing in the larger school pool, they lost their first game last night in the 9:20pm game (long day). They beat Henry Clay, but HC did not have 3 starters due to football camp. JBS led the whole game & looked very impressive.They play Scott Co today but SCHS wil not have 3 starters & 4 of top 8 due to football camp & injuries. Everyone I have talked with has been very impressed with JBS they looked to be a very solid team. Playing like this they would have to be my pick for the 14th region next year. All you JBS fans would be very proud of their performance this week

Just got a phone from a friend in Elliott County who said Evan Faulkner broke his leg at practice today & it looks to be a very bad break. That is all I know at this time so please keep him in your prayers.

I do not have any stats but what I've been told & have read all are doing quite well. Vanhoose & Barker playing with DS 17's, Faulkners,Ferg&Daniel with Eddie Ford 15's& 17's. Ferg hurt a knee & was out for 3 weeks but I think he ok now. Haven't heard anything on Blair. Maynard not playing with anyone but I do not know why. Heard he was working extremely hard with weights, foot drills for quickness & his shot off the move.

Russell and Elliott should be the top 2 in the 16th.

What weekend are the 15-17 AAU StateTourney? What weekend is the High School AAU State Tourney?

shooterx3, where have you been so long? I thought maybe you and the family went on a cruise or something with stripes3 family. Who will go after the West Carter job now that McGlone stepped down.

Anyone heard anything on who made the team? What time was it to be announced?

Tyler has a lot of potential with his size,ability to see the floor,shoot basketball IQ etc.., I agree he does avoid contact whenever possible.From what I have observed and talking with players and others he does not like the weight room or works very hard outside practice to get better, stronger or quicker. He lacks on the ball quickness but he plays so smart it does not hurt him to much at this level. I hope he can pick it up because he is a good kid & has a bright future.

They would have played in 16th, some would have started depending on which school. I think the same could be said of this group in any region in the state except 6th,7th or 11th. Some would have played in those particular regions as well, but I doubt any had much chane of starting.

ShooterX3 I agree with Vanhoose pull up 3 off the dribble,it is really pretty to watch. He gets it off so quick that makes it that much more effective. The best I have seen in a long time at this. I will add 2 more shooters for you from the same school in Elliott Co's Jon Ferguson & Tyler Maynard. We all saw what Ferguson can do from 3 land and Maynard was 2nd in 3pt% in 16th this year @46% & 1st in FT% @ 92%. He did not have the opportunity this past year but should get his chance next year. He is definitely a long range bomber that can consistently hit a 25 footer or more, just ask Morgan, Fleming Co and a few others. What do you think?

Class of 2008 what about Mackey from Scott Co? Class of 2009 what about Ballou from Adair Co or is he in 2010 class?

I have been watching Michael Sparks since he was 10 and have enjoyed each time. I think he played some with Derek Smith All-Stars & Ky Lightning last year,not for sure this year. He has always played inside with great hops & a very nice touch especially on the turn around fade away jumper.It is very difficult to defend. He has not grown to much recently so if he has to play 2 or 3 at the next level his ballhandling will have to improve a lot along with being little more consistent on his outside shot. Like all others he will have to improve defensively to gaurd someone out on the floor. A tremendous high school player with lot of potential and a great kid!
