This one hurts my argument that Raceland deserves a higher rank in the Cubster's poll!! I would have never seen this one coming.

I have been hearing so much that Rose Hill is a year (or two) away. Does that mean Elliott is here now??? And if Elliott is here now, wouldnt that mean they (5 sophs, and an 8th grader) are going to be here for at least 2 more years after this year? That means Rose Hill should be 3 years away based on this years performances.

T-Fan, Im sure the created cheers were for the Cats and nothing derogatory against the Hill-sters. Please don't mistake hostility with school spirit and all athlete's love to play in an intense atmosphere. Everyone has off nights and maybe tonight was Dakota's night (bad timing) and I am for sure the student section did not effect the big man's game tonight as much as you want to think it did.

Rambler, my condolences!! You are absolutely correct. They started Elliott off to their only losing record of the season at 0-1. As a matter of fact, that was the worst loss of the season for them. Can somebody start breaking down their 1-5 men, and their 6 man off the bench with some stats?

I think Elliott may be the team to watch out for as the season continues to roll. Russell is still a top 1 or 2 team, and definitely #1, when their cylinders are kicking, BUT Watch out for Elliot! Let's start breaking down their creditials for a 16th Region Title. 12-4 Overall 12-3 Within the REgion All "A" Region Champs Only a 3 point loser to Russell back at the beginning of December. Only other 16th region loss was a 1 pointer to East Carter (Also in Dec)

I think it is safe to say, that Greenup should not be #3 next week in Cubster's poll and his ranking of Rowan in front of Boyd is legit.

LRCW, What I was stating about the officiating is that, "I dont believe they (both teams) were not allowed to play their best game." You closed the thread(s) believing I was making an insinuation. I think if you remove the 15-0 run and take away some critical calls and the game may still be going on now (OT).

What Dickie is saying is that there are alot of fouls against both teams. Both Jackson's have just fouled out. It sounds like of the 3 man crew, there is a "newbie" there making alot of calls.

Russell did everything in their power to lose that game to a very well coached (Hicks) Greenup team. Officiating was pathetic for both squads that night as was evedent with 2 shots being taken with no time left. If both teams played "good" games then Russell runs away with a victory more than 2 points with no time remaining. I am looking forward to that rematch in the future.

I agree with u here. Greenup's place in the poll will be truly earned this week. My argument against GC is that they have only beaten Boyd & East (within the region) and played close to Russell. So I see that they are definitely in the top 5 or 6 of the region, but at 3 is pushing it and 2 I would have to argue. The winner of the Ashland/Rose Hill game must be at 2 or 3 depending on how Elliott gets through their week. Elliott is definitely the #2 team in this region (maybe even #1 on any given night) unless they fall to Greenup, but they should not be ranked less than #4. Here is the playoff scenario: 1. Russell stays at #1, but no less than #2. 2. Elliott stays at #2, maybe #1 with a Russell loss, no less than #4 with a loss to GC. 3. Greenup earns #3 (maybe #2) with a win vs Elliott. 4. Ashland/Rose Hill winner goes to #2 or #3 depending on Elliott's week. Loser goes to #5, maybe even #6 if Rowan knocks off 2 of their 3 this week (Boyd, Greenup, Russell). 5. Rowan can shoot up to #5 with a 3 game gauntlet or as low as #7 b/c of the same 3 game gauntlet. 6. Boyd can move up as high as #3 with a win over the CATS, or just up 1 spot where I believe they should be now. They can easily drop to #7 with a loss. Head to Head with Rowan on the 30th should decide the 5/6 spot anyways. 7. Whoever is left over from these top teams. Now that you have wasted your time reading this, why don't we just get a computer to calculate their rankings and let people argue over them. Wait, we already have that in college football!!! Already got that shirt.

I surely believe that you are expecting too much out of the Ashland student section. The kids and fans may want to think that being loud, rude and sometimes vulgar is "school spirit", but truly it is offensive.:argue: :fight: And it definitely will take away from what I consider is a "highly anticipated" game that many fans may be able to watch and enjoy basketball if not for a few idiots making everyone else from that school look as bad. Again, let me reiterate my thoughts and hope that the fans do the same.

So, what is the route of this years edition of "transportation provided" to all Rose Hill students???? Is it truly a bus for ANY student?

I have been waiting for this poll for 2 weeks now. I am please to say that Raceland is back to where I believe they should be ranked. I think Greenup is ranked 1 or 2 spots too high and as K-O says, the winner of the Ashland/RH game should b third and the loser 4th or 5th. Lastly, IMO I think Boyd should be ranked above Rowan. I am only lowering Greenup in the rankings due to ALL of the outside interferences. BTW, those 2 Ast. Coaches at Greenup are doing an outstanding job with the position they have been placed in and I would truly hope to see them as head coaches in the 16th someday.:thumb:
