  1. First off, Congrats to the Cats. First time I have seen this team play was tonight and I was impressed. Good team work and alot of good sportsmenship. Your fans have got too be proud. Good luck, win the region and go onto Lexington. Now for our Panthers, Good job. We are proud of you all. No one (outside of your fans) thought you would have made it this far. You played a very good team tonight and I belive it was there starters most of the night up till the end. Tonite the team looked a little bit nervous. Missed alot of easy shots in the the early going. We are one defender away of rising to the next level. Just kept leaving one player open to make a shot. Bringing in Freshmen Chris Mofford really helped mix it up in the end of the first half. Maybe another could have helped alittle. Too our two departing seniors Joe and Levi, Best of luck to you young men. We will surly miss you both . It has been a joy to watch you both play and grow into the men your are. Again Congrats to both teams and good luck in the furture. Looks bright from where I sitting
  2. That was a few Years ago:sleep: How about last year, I can't find the final score but I think Augusta had only 18 Pts the whole game. I don't expect that to happen again. Pendelton will know we were in the Feildhouse regardless of the outcome. Good luck to All teams Boys and Girls
  3. Mason County, Bracken County, St Patrick, and Augusta Augusta beat St Pat to advance to finals Against Mason Lost to Mason in finals 72-42 Elite sports teams from Augusta, No. Talented Kids with alot of drive, heart, and a love of basketball, yes. As far as small town pride ELITE!!! in my book St. Pat very simular in size and talent.
  4. Augusta played a tough first half, To trail Mason by one at half time an out score them in any quarter is to me a feat in of itself. The second half was another story they just seemed very tired and careless with the ball. By the fourth quarter there were alot of hanging heads out there. Was hoping for one final run to try and close the gap a little. I am still very proud to be a fan and of our young men. To all the Augusta fans who turned out tonight it was great to see all of that orange in the stands. Lets make it happen again next week too.
  5. If they pull this off they would have to make a whole new movie and get George Clooney to play Coach Kelsch GOOD LUCK BOYS !!!
  6. Great Job from a group a of Great young men. You showed what being a team is all about. To anyone who missed this game you missed one shot from Josh White that was just amazing. End of the 1st quarter hits a 3 from well over half court, nothing but net. Levi Gallager just played one heck of a game as did the rest of the boys. Wish I had some stats just could not keep them tonite. To busy chearing. :dancingpa
  7. Third time was a charm for the Panthers against Bracken. I think the same will hold true againts St Pat. It will be a tight game. Augusta wins by 3
  8. Two nights two close games. This one again very close wire to wire. Lewis Co just seemed to get frustrated with Augusta defense. Augusta did another good job of sharing the ball all game. Augusta was lead in scoring by Jeremy Hardymon with 23, Josh White 19, Matt Groves 13, Levi Gallagher 9, Steven Cummins and Brayde Hamilton chiped in 2 each. Lets hope the long break till the next game dont effect them as they travel to Paris on the 21st. They have a good chance of wining out the rest of the season but have not played well on the Road with the exception of last night. Good luck boys, Keep Rolling. Jv Game ,another win for our young team 43 to 40. These young men are just playing good team ball as of late. Get one or to to pick up on there defense and some better ball handling they will make some noise in time.Just floating under the radar for now.
  9. Third times a charm. After two losses to Bracken this season Augusta comes out on top tonite. Both teams came out ready to play. The lead was back and forth all game long. Augusta did a good job of sharing the ball all game. Matt Groves lead Augusta with 17 points, Josh White added 13, Jeremy Hardymon 11, Levi Gallager 10, Brayde Hamilton 8, Joe Harget 2, Steven Cumminins 1. Augusta hit 8 threes as a team. Good job Team. Congrats to the Jv Team also winning 43 to 29. Also another team performance were they shared the ball all game. :dancingpa
  10. If Augusta could put together a faster paced game like tonite, minus the turnovers they can beat Bracken. Also they can't stop playing in the 4th. They can do it, they are about due.
  11. The 4th and Newports speed killed them. Only six points, 0 from the starters in the 4th . Accually hung with them through the 3rd. Augusta had 17 points to Newports 20. Pretty sure my numbers are right. Had to be the fastest team I've seen them play. No excuses.
  12. If the Augusta freshmen performance yesterday in the 39th Distric Tourny is a look into the future. The future looks bright. Although they lost to Mason County in the finals the played hard and only were down by 5 going into the half and even out scored them in the 2nd quarter. A poor third quarter and a lot of three pointers from Mason County proved the difference in the end. The first game Augusta prevailed over St Pat 55-39. Jo Jo Gray lead Augusta with 14 points, Ty Krebs added 13, Ryan Kelsch 9, Chris Mofford 8, Shawn White 7 Second Game, Mason County 66 Augusta 45 Chris Mofford lead Augusta with 18, Followed by Shawn White 11, Ty Krebs 8, Jo Jo Gray 5, Ryan Kelsch 3 It was good to see Ryan playing again. The defensive play of Shawn White and Ty Krebs was great in both games. Shawn has always been good on the ball. Had to be the first time I have seen Ty on the ball and what a job he has done. The young men on this team should be proud and will be fun to watch the next few Years.
  13. St Pat's gym in Maysville, Terrible to watch a game there. Augusta's gym by far one of the best old gyms I have been in. The place has a heart of its own.
  14. Your right on both, I just ment to say they needed Levi out there along with Brayde through out the nite. The inexperance of the kids that came off the bench showed. At least at the varsity level. Also as far as no excuses, there are none for this game or any other game I have seen this year. Who is to blame ???? I am just as frustrated as the next fan.
  15. Augusta had no one to match up againts Massey with Gallagher hurt. They played two freshmen against him, Ty Krebs and Chris Mofford for most of the second half. Ty did a good job againt him but the damage was allready done.Hardymon got into foul trouble early and Brayde Hamilton was sick, could have really used them on the floor.
  16. This should be another good game. Teams are pretty well matched. It depends on what defense Augusta brings. I say Augusta wins buy six.
  17. I think the question was about the present Augusta season and what about the rest of the season. I have been to all the Home games this year and most of the away games. They have looked really good at times. Just run out of gas at the end sometimes. They have played a few really close games. I can think of five games more they could have won. A far as the rest of the season I can see them winning six of last eight games. As long as everyone stays healthy and keeps ther heads up. Injuries have hurt them at times. I read last year about the eighth graders coming this year and how they could help out. Except for the last game at Bracken I have not seen very much play out of them. Chris Mofford came off the bench and started blocking shots and pulling down rebounds on both ends. He really helped get them back into the game. The JV team has been doing really well as of late. Ty Krebs and Jo Jo Gray (two other freshman) have played very well on JV also. They have not had much time on varsity but both can play inside and deserve to get some playing time. I think they could have helped make a differnece earlier this season if they were givin the chance.
