  1. Win number 101 coach Kelsch. In what started out as a tight game, Augusta with a 6pt advantage at the half. Augusta walked away in the second half by outscoring their oponnent 21 to 10 in the 3rd quarter and played keep away in the 4th. Jeremy Hardymon was the sole player to break double digits with 24 Pts Dustin Stags had 8, Steven Cummins 6, Matt Groves and Josh White with 5 Bradye Hamilton 4, Chris Mofford 2, Dereck Fryman 1 Augusta Jv also won 57 to 27 Chris Mofford led the team with 21 Pts Shawn White added 8 Ty Krebs, JoJo Gray, Ryan Kelsch and Thomas Woodruff all with 6 Justin Hargett and Robert Vaughn with 2 JV team adds alot to the bench, could add alot more to the Varsity game if given a chance. Only one JV player with varsity time ?????
  2. Not sure, but for some reason he did not even play in the JV game. Would think the more playing time the better.
  3. He seemed to have his boys ready to play. He would'nt stop his boys from coming at us. As far as Talent goes not sure on their stats but they do have some that can drive in lane. They also started an eighth grader who will be someone to watch, has good size and can move. I know when our 8th graders played him he made his presence known.
  4. Yes at the Den, and it was shaking. We had a great turnout tonight and they saw one heck of a show.
  5. I don't think many teams in the Region has a chance against Montgomery County. But the Lady Bears are not talked about very much to even make to the Regions. I think they have a good chance to make it. Lets see how they play Mason Co. on Monday Night. They also have the all A. Could be a sleeper there too.
  6. What a game. It was back in forth the whole way. The largest lead was 5 points by Fleming early on. Both teams missed alot of easy baskets throughout the game. Augusta had four Players in double figures led by Matt Groves with 18 Dustin Staggs added 15, Jeremy Hardymon 14 (plus 12 Rbs), Josh White 11 Chris Mofford chiped in 6, Dereck Fryman 5, And Bradye Hamilton 4 They shared the ball well and played as a Team as allways. Get some rest boys we play again tomorrow. JV game was also won by Augusta 48-37 Ty Krebs led Augusta with 13, followed by Ryan Kelsh, Chris Mofford, and Shawn White with 9 each. JoJo Gray added 6 (11 Rbs)and Joey Crouch 2
  7. I work with a guy whos daughter plays for Bracken, He told me that Reno was moving. Too bad for the Lady Bears she was fun to watch. She will be good addition where ever she plays.
  8. How many players did they lose. They had a good game against Mason last year in District. Just know I watched the Girls 8th Grade team this year and they had one girl (Reno) I believe. She can flat out play. Could this team be a sleeper
  9. Great news... Would be nice to see her come back.... Best of luck Megan
  10. This will be a good test. Not sure about Flemings players but I am sure they will be physical. The test is in how our boys respond. Last year we got pushed around alot. If they stand their ground we will be OK. I say Augusta 62 Fleming 54
  11. Great win for Augusta. Team played very well. Did very well on the boards Staggs had 9 Groves had 11 and that what I counted likely more. Josh White ran the team up the floor like always setting the pace. Great Job, Now Coach Kelsch can get some sleep. On a side note. JV game was very exciting but OFFICALLY not so good. Deming won in overtime 54-49 Ty Krebs led the Panthers with 14 pts shot 85% from the feild hit two FT with one eye to put into overtime. Got a nice cut above eye from a elbow. Jo Jo Gray and Ryan Kelsh added 11 apice, Good too see Ryan on the hardwood again. Shawn White had 7 and Chris Mofford 6 Foul trouble for team kept them out of it in OT
  12. I know they won't quit as a team, Just like I wont quit cheering them on. Did see some quit in one or two tonite. I am sure it won't keep happening. Like I said they are young especially on the bench. I look forward in watching them improve.
  13. I understand just curious on how well Cline, Chambers, and Litzinger did. Will see the stats in the paper tommorow.
  14. Don't need to say much about Augusta. Work on passing the ball. Too many bad passes. Very young team. Will have alot to work on this year. Defense and not giving up. Team has some young tallent, just need some confidence. Lauren Whiteman and Brie Lang Led Augusta with 9 apiece
  15. Very sad to hear about Megan, I was really looking forward to see her play again. Very nice young lady, hope its not a bad as it seems. We will pray for her in A-Town too. Any stats on this game
  16. Any predictions on this Game Should be a good game. My heart says Augusta. Will depend alot on how the the bench is used. May be the first game for both teams, but its a important one in setting the tone for both teams.
  17. The one that is overlooked for Augusta is Brayde Hamilton. Good player on both ends of floor. Outside shot of Ty Krebs hitting nicly all summer. Told by former Coach that its one of the best shots he has seen. A
  18. not too sure about any others but Augusta JV lost and Varsity won both played Lloyd Memorial. Varsity looked pretty good. Hardymon led team on both ends of floor.
  19. Homecourt, Refs, Seating, parking, long drives. Its the finals and you know its coming. You have to be prepared for all that could and will happen. Mason knows how to close out a game, they have done it the last four games. Like a wise basketball mind once told me "no excusess play like a champion" Both teams played hard. It was pointed out befor it came to missed free throws and free throws only. The fans that threw bottles onto the floor after the game really tarnished what was a Great Game. I also saw some fans get walked out after the halftime break. With all the cameras in that gym why would you do someting that would draw attention. I can't wait to go to State Tourny. Have never been there befor and will take my two sons for their first trip too. Chris Lofton, what a class act. I stood In stands and watched him sign ballcaps and shirts for little and big kids alike. Glad to see he remembers where he came from. Good luck to all teams that made this a great tourny. Come back strong next year. To the departing senior players best of luck in where you go from here.
  20. Good luck finding a non-biased fan in the 10th you might have to look for a fan from another region. I pick Clark. Get out fast and match the changes Mason makes in the second half and they can pull away. Block out Turner like BB did last nite could be a Key. Any one know how many rebounds Turner had last nite?
  21. Well I agree with you. Mason did have a advantage last nite. Ticky Tac touch call against BB at the end of the game was unreal. I have said if before and will say it again refs will not call a walk on Masons elite players. The last three games I have seen Mason play its been the same story. Just look at the number of fouls called againt each team in the second half 8 against BB and 2 against Mason last time I looked. Brossart did deserve to be there. I think the missed threes hurt them. They took the #20 kid out at the end the game and he was the only one that was hitting them. I Think I was wrong maybe his number was 40 the bigger kid that was hitting them.
  22. Augusta hung with them and were down by one at half. Mason will make some changes at the half like they did in the Augusta Game. Go Deming win one for the small schools.
