  1. I think this is going to be a good game. The biggest lost for Catholic will not be Justin Burke, it will be Bob Sphire. Catholic has had a history of being able to replace their QB's Neff, Doss, Burke, etc...They will be fine in that aspect, but the loss of a great offensive mind like Sphire is irreplaceable. I think Catholic will still be a very tough team and give St. Xavier a test in week 2.
  2. Chris Williams is very good player, who doesn't always get the credit he deserves. I think tonight is another example of Creek, playing like Creek, outta control and inconsistent.
  3. 1. Tilghman 2. UHA 3. Apoll0 4. Warren Central 5. John Hardin 6. Doss 7. Jeffersontown 8. Shelby Co. 9. Highlands 10. Pendleton Co. 11. Bryan Station 12. Lincoln Co. 13. So. Laurel 14. Hazard 15. Johnson Central 16. Morgan Co. 4th
  4. ummm, you guys? I've never once said that about scott co. but if you were at the game last night, how could that foul be intentional? it was clearly a block of the ball and the foul was with the body, the guy for scott co. didn't even fall to the floor, he didn't get hit hard. the referee got caught up in the emotion of the crowd and let it influence his call. I think both teams played really hard and both deserved to win, i also mentioned that in my other thread.
  5. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if Cov. Holy Cross made it to the region out of that district they have proven to have penchant for the "upset" this year. For some reason however I loved the Highlands played against Lafayette, proving they are a very tough and physical team, which will serve them well in the playoffs. However like others have already mentioned , any one of possibly 6 teams could win the 9th.
  6. the phantom intentional foul really helped scott co. out last night too. But then again I already mentioned all that in my thread which was posted first, but mysteriously was closed.
  7. same goes for haddix he hacked up a storm last night
  8. Congrats to Lee Co.--- LCA beat Lafayette this year------ BIG WIN
  9. Franklin Co. has improved dramatically since the beginning of the season. I fully expect them to win the 41st. BTW how did the big kid from Franklin fare against Elliott tonight?
  10. I'm a little surprised Nochta from Creek made the team. He didn't even play TE at all during the season. Whereas Gardner was an all state performer at the position and his team made the playoffs. Oh well, Good luck Pete!!
  11. The final was something like 69-65. Both teams played very hard and both deserved to win. If TC had hit their free throws they would have. Matt Walls played great and hit some big shots down the stretch for the Cards. Mike Spaulding played very well for the Dores. A horrible intentional foul at the end of the game turned it in favor of the Cards. Billy Hicks did a great job going to the press in the second half. The boys on both sides played great. The coaches should be very proud of their squads. However the officials were horrendous and should be fired, they were horrible on both sides of the ball. If anybody else was there they will tell you that this game was rough on both sides and the officials didn't step up and should be ashamed of themselves. I hope they don't work the 43rd district or 42nd district tourny. Good game Cards and Creekers. Good Luck in the District.
  12. Paintsville Bishop Brossart Ballard East Jessamine Nelson Co. Scott Co. Russell Warren Central Lex. Christian Franklin Co. 116
  13. Everything still runs through WC, to me they are the best in the 4th and will be in Rupp.
  14. I think it boils down to the inevitability of the fact that Lex. catholic is not going anywhere, and eventually there will come a day when Catholic is 4A in football and they will be grouped together with the Lexington schools forcing the games to occur. Also from what I understand in talking to administrators at TC the feeling is that the KHSAA is finally ready to enforce its bylaws, and they feel all transgressions on each side won't be swept under the rug.
  15. Yep, he was a great HS player and was what 6'5 290 and fast and strong, I was just wondering if he played anywhere after leaving UK.
  16. Can anyone tell me if he is playing college ball anywhere? I played against some major talents in High School and even had some d-1 offers till I tore my ACL my Sr. year, but he was the best lineman I played against in high school. I expected some big things out of him.
  17. ^Didn't Buchanan sign with James Madison off that team , was he freshman that year?
  18. I Like Lee Co. over Powell in the championship, I just have gut feeling powell upsets estill, I have no facts to base this prediction on though.
  19. But you all also have one of the best coaching staffs in the state, run a more advanced scheme than 99.9 percent of schools in kentucky and have way more depth than all but 1 team in the state. That being said Trinity does not lack for talent. They may not have had d-1 signess, but I played against you guys 3 times in High School and the two best players you guys had were not d-1 signees. They were Geoff Riddle and VINCE POWERS , those guys killed us, this is just my opinion but those guys were so underrated and underhyped , if they were 6'4 225 they would playing d-1 right now. Powers would be playing d-1 right now at UK if he had, had the grades.
  20. ^You are absolutely right, the 9th region has always been tough and I have seen Cov. Catholic, Holmes and Hghlands this year and they can beat any team in the state.
  21. In my opinion however there are about 15 other than the top 5 teams who could pull it out this year. I would also look for: O. Catholic, Lex. Catholic, Henry Clay, Holmes, Cov. Catholic, Elizabethtown, Jeffersontown, Eastern, PRP, Male, Ballard, Fern Creek, Highlands,Pad. Tilghman(sleeper), Pendleton Co.(my favorite coach in state), for some reason I love the way Buddy Biggs coaches, he just seems to do things the right way.
  22. My top 5 contenders as of right now: So. Laurel, John Hardin, Bryan Station, Scott Co., Shelby Co.
  23. Before he had some trouble this year John Watkins a 6'4 swing man from Tates Creek probably had a 40 inch vert and brought it in a mean way on the fast break.
