  1. I think the word is "elusive." I'm pretty sure Joe Rogan found that on his word of the day toilet paper the day Machida fought Tito Ortiz.
  2. Not sure who I want to win the main event. I like both fighters....although I tend to go back and forth when it comes to BJ. He's a great fighter, but often times his attitude puts me off. I wouldn't mind seeing him hold two belts though....at least until KenFlo beats him at LW. Bummed that John Fitch is not on the main card. I hope we get to see his fight.
  3. Rasheem Barrett is planning on holding Meeks to 2 points..... http://www.al.com/auburnbasketball/huntsvilletimes/index.ssf?/base/sports/1232532912111840.xml&coll=1 Cats by 16
  4. Here is a new background for your desktop.
  5. My mom dealt with the Bank of KY after our incident in Hawaii, and they were a great help. Maybe it depends on which branch you're dealing with....
  6. Don't let this sway your decision on that. It could really happen in any high tourist location. Just be careful. Definitely don't leave valuables in your car, and you may be better off to stay in a more secure location....like a hotel. Hawaii is a beautiful place! I will definitely go back someday.
  7. That's definitely the scary part! We were always careful not to leave valuables in the car...and we had commented about someone maybe breaking in while we were gone. We certainly never thought someone would come in while we were there. I'm just glad that no one woke up. It could have been a lot worse!
  8. Just some business related documents....nothing he didn't have saved on his hard drive at home....thank goodness! He didn't think there was anything that would be an issue.
  9. Apparently, there is a device criminals can use to scan your card and get the codes off of it. It appears that these "guys" were professionals. We did find out that at least one of the ATM's they used had a camera. So, we'll see if anything comes of that. Funny thing....the ATM they used was directly across the street from the police department.
  10. Well, we made it back safely from Hawaii.....thank the good Lord! We left on Christmas morning and planned to spend 6 days on the Big Island, then fly to Honolulu (on Oahu) for the rest of our 11 day trip. We actually rented a house near Hilo on the Big Island. It was in a really nice neighborhood and we were right on the water. It was a beautiful house....very nice. On our last night there (Dec. 30), we came home a bit early and starting packing up our stuff to head to Honolulu the next day. I called it a night pretty early. My parents were still up when I went to bed. I slept pretty soundly. The house made funny noises always, and we could constantly here the waves smashing into the rocks outside. My mom woke up aroud 6:15am, and went to the back lanai to have her coffee....like every other morning there. She discovered that the back door was unlocked and the screen door was standing open. She remembered locking the door before she went to bed. At first she thought someone else must have already been up. Then she looked around and realized something was wrong. She came bursting in to my room. "Are you in here? Are you okay?!" she asked, sounding very frantic. Then the odd question..."Do you have your dad's laptop?" "Really?" I was thinking, "at 6:30am?" She headed back out of the room, and I heard her yell, "Oh my God! We've been robbed!" I shot up out of bed and ran into the other room. My dad's laptop was missing along with two of our cameras. My mom's purse was gone. My brother's wallet had been in my mom's purse. Dad's briefcase was nowhere to be found. We were all running around crazily, hoping to find a way to disprove her theory. Then, my boyfriend found the broken window in the front room.... They had entered the house while we were sleeping. They grabbed what they could find and left out the back door. We were shaken. We had been violated. However, we were all safe. I cried because I didn't know what else to do. My mom called 911. We were told it would take a while for the police to get there. My mom and my brother went about calling the bank and cancelling their credit cards. I got on the phone with Hawaiian Airlines and the TSA to figure out how we get them on a plane without their identification. The police finally showed up about 3 hours after we called. They took a report and dusted for prints. We were told incidents such as this were not completely uncommon. It was likely that our house had been cased, they knew we were tourists, and they were probably watching us waiting for the lights to go out. It made me sick to think about. Apparently, we were lucky that we hadn't woken up and discovered them....lucky that they found enough to not come searching the bedrooms. Otherwise, we were likely to have been beaten...or maybe stabbed. We were lucky.... The robbers got away with a $3000 laptop, two cameras (with hundreds of pics and videos), a few thousand in cash, my dad's briefcase, my mom's purse, my brother's wallet....and for good measure they took a 12 pack of Pepsi out of the fridge on their way out the back door. They managed to use my mom's debit card 3 times at 3 separate ATM machines prior to 4:00am HT (I'm not even sure how you do that without a pin number), and got an additional $600. I managed to lose none of my pysical belongings, since I had packed everything up the night before. That was certainly one of the scariest things that has ever happened to me. I haven't slept great since. We did manage to make our flight to Honolulu, and my mom and brother were able to get through security. It just required a secondary pat-down and a long call to "big brother." We continued on with the rest of our vacation and had a great time, in spite of everything. It was certainly something we will NEVER forget. I had prayed throughout our whole trip that God would keep us safe.....and he did.
  11. Working today....then I'm off until Jan. 7. Woo-hoo!
  12. In the 6th grade, I got Reebok Pumps and a school jacket. I was so cool....
  13. Is that your fightin' weight? LOL
  14. I think what the Yankees are doing is ridiculous. Spending this much money on players and then charging $2500 for a ticket in the new park. Seems a bit irresponsible with today's economy. That's just my opinion, of course.
  15. In college, my EX-boyfriend bought me a XL North Carolina football jersey and a North Carolina hat....because I liked the color baby blue. I was 5'3, 125 lbs and have been a UK fan my entire life.....
  16. Spent some time taking care of my brother after his accident. Since then, work has been kicking my butt. Not much time for BGP. Slow day today though. My work is dwindling, since I'm leaving on a jet plane on Thursday morning.
  17. I'll will be at Duke's Canoe Club on Waikiki Beach. Should be much better than last year....

  19. Read The Shack.....it gives an interesting perspective to how God feels about politics and authority.
  20. We have been told by all of his pilot friends at the airport and the FAA, that Scott did everything right. He did exactly what he was supposed to do by getting his passenger out first and making sure that the plane did not fly into any houses or congested areas. People have been calling him a hero, and Dwayne feels like he wouldn't be here if it weren't for Scott. We are very proud of him.
  21. Thanks so much for all of the thoughts and prayers. This has been a scary and stressful time for all of us. Both of Scott's surgeries went well. He had surgery to repair his back on Wednesday, and things were looking good. However, after the surgery, his oxygen levels kept dropping. They found a blood clot in his lung, and ended up admitting him to ICU. They had to put him on a blood thinner, which is very dangerous having just had the surgery on his spine. Any bleeding around the spinal cord could be disaster and potentially cause paralysis. Fortunately, there were no further complications. He was able to move back to a regular room yesterday afternoon. He did finally eat yesterday too. He seems to be getting a little bit of strength back, but he is still in extreme pain. He has a long road to recovery. I finally went home and had a full night's rest last night. Up to this point, I had only came home for a few hours at a time to get a shower. All of my time this week has been spent at the hospital, sleeping in a chair or on a small fold-out sofa. My parents have not been home since Sunday. They are exhausted. They finally decided to get a room close to the hospital and have been able to get a little rest. We know that the three of us need to stay strong for Scott. We are a very close family and want to have someone there with him all the time. On a good note, Dwayne went home from the hospital on Thursday. He seems to be doing okay physically....just sore. Mentally, however, he is struggling a bit. I know that he was having nightmares in the hospital. He went through a very scary ordeal, and may take some time for him to get past it. Thanks again for all of the nice comments. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. God has answered many, and we are very thankful.
  22. P.S. The Bank of Kentucky has set up a fund to help with medical costs. Persons of concert or those wishing to donate should contact their local Bank of Kentucky branch. P.S.S. I am the official family spokesperson and the only reliable source on this. Please don't believe everything you read or hear in the media or any comments made by readers. Feel free to PM me with any questions. Thanks!
  23. Many prayers are needed for my brother and cousin who were injured Sunday night in a plane crash. Some of you may have heard the story. My brother, Scott, and cousin Dwayne were sight-seeing in my brother's plane. The engine failed near the end of their flight and they were about 5 miles from the airport in Falmouth. Anyone who knows the area knows that there are really no places to attempt an emergency landing. My brother was able to locate an open field to jump over and attempt to run the plane into the ground and away from any houses or people. Since the plane is an aerobatic plane with an open cockpit, my brother always wears a parachute and requires that his passengers do the same. Parachutes are actually required when doing any aerobatics (although they were not doing any aerobatic maneuvers). Scott waited for Dwayne to climb out on the wing and jump before pushing the throttle down and opening his chute simultaneouly in order to eject himself. Unfortunately, he was only 200-300 feet off the ground and his chute did not fully deploy. He broke both legs in multiple places and has 3 breaks in his back. He underwent surgery yesterday for the leg injuries, and will be having back surgery tomorrow. Dwayne's right leg was completely shattered from the knee down. He also had surgery yesterday. They are both at UC hospital. We have been told that the engine threw a rod. My brother said he heard a pop and there was a puff of black smoke. There was no warning. It was not something that could have been foreseen or prevented. Both Scott and Dwayne know they are lucky to be alive. They both have a long road ahead as they undergo rehabilitation and deal with not working for an extended period of time. Please continue to keep them and my family your thoughts and prayers.
