  1. I have been told by someone who knows about such things that Pike County refs are traditionally bad. Also I was as shocked that Coach Perry was called for a T as I would be if a tornado swooped down on my house on a day when the sun was shining and the sky was a calm and blue.
  2. Although, Morgan County lost to Belfrey by 1 point, Cougar players showed great determination and "sticktoitiveness." I am proud of these young men.
  3. I have been wondering about what ever happened to Alvin Ratliff, so a big thanks to Moecephus for this info about him.
  4. This entire page of postings has made me angry. First of all, I doubt that some of you realize where the mountains in this state are. Many of the teams discussed are not even close to any mountains. Most of eastern Kentucky, which of course garners criticism from all people ignorant of our heritage and assets, is not in the mountains at all. However we are in the hills and they are very different from mountains. Hills are friendly looking, usually somewhat rounded mounds of earth. Mountains are like the Alps, the Rockies, etc. They are very tall and forbidding looking. I think Pike County and surrounding countryside are in the mountains. And now, back to our main concern of basketball, Morgan County has one of the better defensive teams which was ever put together in such a small school, I think.........and I am sure there are others.
  5. I think the Cantrall ratings are way off base or off center or anyway off. What do you make of all of this discussion and opinions, Mocephus?
  6. You always make great sense and seem to know the game of basketball quite well. I look forward to your posts.
  7. Nothing but Net is right about that. Morgan County's critics should just watch their progress as the season goes along. I have never seen a Matthew Perry coached team fail to improve yet.
  8. As this season progresses, I do believe that even northern Kentuckians will know about the Morgan County cougars. They might even know and remember the coach's name and a few player's names too.
  9. Morgan County beats West Carter by a score of 56 to West Carter's 42.
