Guys, don’t be hard on Fastbreak. He is just standing up for a friend. I know more than anyone else how imperfect I am. I do honestly believe, I am the Chief of Sinners. At times I speak when I should keep my mouth shut. I should have never said I don’t think Obama is Christian. I was just trying to make the point that his past history does not emulate what I was taught a Christian should be. I will continue praying for him and the other leaders of our country. For those of you who were offended, I am sorry. I tried to introduce scripture into this discussion. I do however believe the words from the Bible I posted. Hatz I can provide you with a list of people who say they see me in a different light or a light that doesn't seem to reflect Christianity? We ALL fall short of the glory of God.

I kind of backed out of this thread because I had the judgmental finger pointed at me. I was going to explain, but I didn’t think anyone would listen. Jesus tells us we can tell if someone is true by their actions. Matthew 7:16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. I just can’t believe that someone who promotes the killing of innocent children is bearing good fruit. As for does he pray five times a day. I would hope so. I pray at least that many times a day. That does not make me a Muslim.

He can say he is Christian, but his actions, and his history say otherwise.

To be specific, I said, “ I don’t know if Obama is Muslim or not, but I don’t think he is Christian either.” If his religion is not relevant, then why is he running away from his past and saying he is Christian? Obama understands it is relevant to the individual voter. A Muslim is not electable in America in 2008.

This "clause" means a person doesn't have to be a certain religion to qualify for the presidency. It doesn't mean people can't use that to decide who to vote for.

His religion doesn't worry me. I am concerned about his belief's.

You know more about basketball than me, but If Jackson and Faulkner were on the same team, wouldn't you play Jackson at the point and play Faulkner at a 2 guard position and try to get him open shots? That is the only area where Faulkner is better than Jackson.

Obama has used the word "change" during his campaign. But it is just a word, his campaign has been business as usual. Picking a 35 year congressmen as a running mate doesn't do much for change. McCain on the other hand has brought a new face with a new perspective. I got to say, I was torn before. I was never going to vote for Obama, but I am not a total McCain supporter. I was leaning 3rd party. This selection has put my support behind McCain.
