I hope he gets his 300th tonight. Gosh the man has coached over 40 years. How many dads and sons did he coach and teach?? Heck how many moms and daugthers did he teach as well? I had a teacher at Beechwood who was in the 7th grade at Paintsville when Walter Brugh was there. She was in her 50's when she taught us. It is amazing how these coaches stay that long at one school or heck even coach that long.

I don't know how much of a friend Dan Ritter was to Yeagle but I have a story about him back in 93 during the playoffs. New Cath was the top team in our district. We finished second. We beat Paintsville in the first round. Dayton lost to Paris. Dan came to one of our practices before the Paris game. He told us after the Paris game all they were worried about was New Cath. He told them you should worry about Beechwood not New Cath. They told him that they weren't worried about Beechwood because they would beat us. He said they were worried about New Cath not us. He talks and talks about how Paris disrepects us. Then all of a sudden he does a back flip. The man is very very intense coach. I have been saying all along if Yeagle ever left he would be perfect for the job because he is intense like him. The question would be if he got the chance would he take it?? I would think he would. He would be taking a pay cut like someone said because he is a Principal. But he would be coaching one of the best programs in the state. He would have the chance to compete for a state title every year. I don't know the man ver well only meeting him a once back then. I think Dan Ritter would be a good choice to replace Yeagle if he decides to leave.

Until Holy Cross finally beats Danville in the playoffs they will have that mental edge over them. I have never seen one of these games played but from the way it sounded like Holy Cross outplayed them in this years game and in 2003 but somehow the Ads pulled it out.

Nobody is talking about this. Maybe it is because it is still the playoffs or everyone is still seeing what Yeagle does.

Even though this wasn't a great Beechwood team but however LCA still beat the tradition and they deserved to move on. I remember last year after Beechwood beat Danville in the title game. Most Danville fans said that this wasn't their best team. This is this the reason I posted. My point is that who cares. Beechwood was the champ last year. All I have heard when Beechwood was the champs in the 90's was if Danville or Mayfield or other teams were in there they wouldn't won. That is heresay. Who cares what other people think. LCA beat Beechwood last week. With or without this being one of the best Beechwood teams they proved they can beat them so they deserved to move on.

Experience?? I'm not a New Cath fan but I'm pretty sure a lot of their players have been starting since they were in the 10th and 11th grade. They will stop if they get beat on Friday.

Even though I'm not a Ncc fan I like the Breds in this one. Lca better be ready when Sammy scrambles. I think Ncc's defense is underrated as well. Look at what they did to Lincoln Adams. How many yards did he get?

From 94 until last year Beechwood won every game. Granted they didn't play for a couple of years but GT to answer your question Beechwood was 9-0 during this span against Cov Cath.

Those teams won state titles in differnt classes not Class A. Beechwood is the only true team to win Class A since that is the only Class they have ever been in. Somerset might have been a good team back then or whatever you talked about but they wouldn't have beat us.

Beechwood fans will take New Cath beating them in Freshmen and JV. Beechwood fans have been hearing that for years that the power has shifted but everyone knows knows the facts on that one.

You are right about one thing. Our rings do ring hallow or whatever you said since most Beechwood players who played during that time does have 3 rings or more.

Your totally wrong again. Danville won the 84 title when the beat Hopkinsville. They were 3A. How do I know this because Beechwood beat Paris in 84. One question how can you even talk about Somerset when they couldn't beat Lynn Camp or Pikeville during those years??? Beechwood beat both of those teams during that span.

Somerset hasn't done anything since I have been watching football since the late 80'.s

We were very very spoiled with the sucess he brought to our program. He took Beechwood from a team losing in the semis every year to being a state champ every year. Mike Yeagle raised the bar in Class A football.

My personal opinion is if Bob doesn't want the job open it up. I'm sure you will many Nky, across the state and Coaches from Ohio applying for this job. Heck you never know because I have heard some schools open it on the internet you might have some coaches from other states besides Ky and Oh.

I remember back in 90 when I was in Yeagle's gym class. He told us that if he didn't get the job after Barrie left he would leave. I'm glad Beechwood was smart enough to see this. My point is this. There are some great coaches out there like Mike and Chuck. All they need is a chance to prove themselves. Boyles New Coach has already proved he can win. Heck their still playing this week. Bob Burnett is will the good choice for Beechwood if he decides to take it. But if not Beechwood won't have to look long and hard for a coach because they should be able to get the coach they want.

GT Yeagle and Smith were unproven coaches before they got their chance.

Frosh games never meant anything once they got to Varsity. I'm going way back but the 96 Beechwood team who beat Harrodsburg in the state title game was like either 2-5 or 1-7.
