  1. Your probably right:thumb: Honestly, I would have to go with Loiusville Central.
  2. As of today the game is still on, but I think the starting time has been moved to 11:00 a.m.
  3. Nice post LN. It's very much appreciated by the players. Your football knowledge inspires them (if you know what I mean). There's no doubt Collinsworth is the top Sophomore at this time. He's started every game at DB and has done an outstanding job. The skys the limit for this class. I hope they stay together, practice together, support each other and form a true teammate bond that can carry a team to State Championships as well as life long friendships. :thumb:
  4. I was surprised to see B-wood only had 17 kids or so dressed for the game. Although they are A, I thought they'd have more. It's simply two different styles of football between both schools. The speed of HHS was too much to overcome. B-wood is a respectable and quality program. Good luck the rest of the season. Good game Birds!
  5. And risk an injury? Isn't the #2 QB for the Frosh out for the season? Where would that leave them for the rest of the season. Just thinking about it from a team standpoint.
  6. Unless I'm missing something, which could be the case, I assume they are brought up for "numbers" in case of injury. I'm assuming most of the players brought up are Frosh starters? If that's the case they're getting time during their respective games. The majority of the JV players see very little time at the varsity level. Therefore, they deserve to get their time during JV games. Your comment on Jake is accurate and deserved. Jake has stepped up and gotten the job done under difficult circumstances.
  7. It's been heard, that any of the players from last years 8th grade team that had "issues" last year will not make the Freshman squad this year.
  8. I'd add Grubbs to the list of Sophomores that could see some Varsity PT. As for the Junior class I hear a few are not coming back to even tryout.
  9. Any reason for the cancellation? Doesn't this mean SK will play 3 games within 1 week?
  10. No wonder I didn't see you at the HHS/Scott game!!!!
  11. Fortunately for everyone, these two teams play twice this year. The next game is scheduled for November 3, 10:00 a.m. @ Cov. Cath.:jump:
  12. I'd rather not talk specifics about their injuries.
  13. Spencer Bankamper and Teddy Abner. Both of them would have started as JV LB's and saw action in some varsity games.
  14. Huddleston was the other Sticky. Keep in mind all 4 of these players have moved up to help at the LB position. Currently the only JV LB that's been practicing at that position is Blake Newman. The others, Bankamper, Alford and Abner are out with injuries. Two of them were season ending injuries. Last night I saw and 2 O-lineman playing LB.
  15. With Crawford it's a track meet to the corner that's for sure. If he get's there as LN pointed out he's got the speed to score anytime. Looking ahead to next year which is very pre-mature on my part, but I think he'll be a great addition to the backfield with Josh. How about Oliver's interception run back for a touchdown right before halftime. It reminded me of the Oliver we saw in the FTJFL. Hunter Schlosser will find his way onto the Varsity O-line next year at one of the Guard positions. He's fundamentally sound and will be a force trap blocking with his speed and aggressiveness. Nice game all around for the Birds. Keep working hard young men.
  16. I couldn't agree more with LN regarding the behavior and comments made from the Dixie fan(s). Besides giving it to the refs, Dixie coaches, HHS coaches, and scoreboard operator he voiced his improper comments to a HHS mom who and cheered for her son after he made an interception. The fact is, this young man rarely gets onto the field unless it's on a special team. As I sat and listened to this fan all morning, I couldn't help but think what Coach Spritzkey was thinking. He was at the game with his parents sitting up to the left of this guy. Knowing Tom, he will continue coaching his players to improve their football skills. As for the fan, I don't think there's a cure to help him. Overall, a great game by the JV Birds. Keep working hard...............
  17. Why are there no Pre-sale tickets available for this game? Neither school is offering them. Why? Who makes the call on this sort of thing?
  18. We saw the number of friends you had on the endzone bleachers with you last Saturday at Holmes..............I was ready to join you, but you headed out to watch Centre play.
  19. Don't forget your Thursday evening visitors tonight Henry......:dancingpa
