Each of the 16th Region coaches are first class people and they are fair and honest. Jessica is very thankful for the honor to be voted for the award and represent the Region.

Congrats to Rose Hill and Emily for a good game. Fortman did not guard Queen until the second half and did a great job on her. She also shut down players prior in the tournament. Thanks for degrading a great kid and player.

They are also great coaches and my daughter has played for Steve who was the coach who coached the team on the weekly Disney Channe TV series a few years ago. John Coffey my have the record for AAU National Championships and players love to play for him. Jerry Rex has coached National Championship teams also. Jerry's speciallty is that he can challenge and take a girl's game to the next level. He plays everyone but still wins the big games.

As long as the refs call the game fairly most teams, coaches and fans are happy even if the refs seemed to call the game poorly. I would say this game was called fairly by the refs.

What is her age and month of birth?

Another girl tore a leg muscle in that spot and I talked to a mother who said her son sprained her ankle in that same spot in the past. Lewis County definitely has a liability and needs to do something. They should move the Friday night game somewhere else. If it is a floor problem it is not worth playing if someone else gets hurt.

A lot of the fouls by Boone were at the end of the game when they were playing full court press and trying to catch up. That happens.

Thanks Red Shift. I do not think I said anything bad about Belfry. I just tried to say what Russell needed to do to be able to win.

Belfry is a good team and played well. They were making their shots and did not miss many. Russel did not play their normal good defense and allowed Belfry to have a lot of open shots. Seemed like Russell's legs were tired after 4 games in 4 days and they did not move well on defense. Russell was ahead in the first quarter until Fortman had to sit out for most of the first half due to having 3 quick fouls called against her (Will not blame the refs because Russell's defense hurt it more, but fouls were 1 for Belfry and 8 for Russell in the middle of the first half). Belfry then went ahead by about 12 but Russell cut it down to 5 at half with some good shooting by Sam Sparks and Chinwe. Russell kept it close until the near the end. They played well in the second half with Fortman having 19 in the second half, Chinwe was hitting and so was Sparks but they let Belfry keep on having open shots and Belfry was only too happy to make them. Besides his defensive letdown today, Russell is starting to play very well as a team. They are not forcing their passes and shots as much as earlier in the year and are being more patient in waiting for good open and high percentage shots themselves or working it inside. Adkins and Simpson also had good tounaments and are getting better each game. They are also both very strong on defense. The bench is getting more time each game and are feeling more comfortable and are contributing.

High scoring game between two great teams. Was a 1 point game with about 3 minutes left in the fourth. Both teams couldn't miss and were running the floor. Another nice win for Russell which had 4 or 5 players in double figures. Fortman and Okoro with 28 and 29 points.

The game was tied at half. Greenup came ready to play and was ahead most of the second quarter until just before half when the score was tied. Sara Sexton did a good job inside and scored a number of consecutive baskets in the paint. Russell went ahead by a wide margin in the third quarter when Greenup went on a scoring slump and Russell's players all seemed to get hot and played some good defense. Merle must have given them a pep talk at the half.

This is really bad sportsmanship. The coach should appologize to Fort Knox.
