:thumb: Several passes were behind the WRs or he lead them too far. One pass to the FB was a rocket when more touch was needed. He was off on several passes and the interception was a terrible decision...there were 2 Cinci players waiting for the ball....looked like a panic pass.... Don't get me wrong. I think Brian is great. I also agree with the move to get him in because like Ram said....it is good for the rest of the season. This was the game for Brian shake the rust off....and now UL can roll the rest of the way. This closeness of this game will also help with team focus. ...still undefeated!

The guy at halftime missed winning a car because his field goal hit the upright.....To play that bad and still win is good. It gets everyone's head back to earth.

Just got back from the game...Cards looked bad..well the offense anyway. The Cards had just about everything go wrong....Brian making bad passes, dropped passes, and 2 lost fumbles inside their own 20. Heck even the Cardinal Bird missed the stadium on his parachute jump! I actually think that Hunter would have done a better job today...but Brian needed this to work out the bugs and get back in the swing. Good Things: Defense Kolby not playing as much as Bolen and Allen. Special teams looked better.

Brad also scored a TD in this game. He is a very fast RB too. Runs a lot like Stripling on UL.

He might also be testing his committment. I watched Caracter at Derby time in the Derby classic. I was impressed with his talent ....but his hustle was horrible. He was very lazy. I knew that Pitino would either turn him into a superstar or run him off. I believe that Caracter himself even made comments that he came to UL because he needed the discipline and the hard work. I wonder if we are at a fork in the road here with that choice. I hope if that's the case....that this young man makes the right choice....because quitting always leads to a life of "what ifs" and "only ifs". Ricky P. has the formula for success....if you want it...

I might be throwing my own experiences in here unfairly....But there were 2 guys in my unit that went because they were young and just didn't know what they were getting into. We had to keep them at camp instead of going on mission because of their cowardice. Lucky for me...my platoon sergeant was an ex-Navy seal with action in Nam. He recognized this behavior and acted on it. My guess is that if had to go back...these two would not show up. I would bet a paycheck on one of them. I just see a lot of similiarities between this guy and those two. They talked a lot of trash before we got there...then they turned to these so called moral issues after their cowardice surfaced... Like I said...I could be wrong...this just reminds me of my experience.

As a veteran...I strongly feel that he is no where close to a hero. He is a coward!. There is no mystery behind what you might have to do when you join the military. You know what you are getting into. However...he did the right thing by not going....I say this because this coward would have gotten someone killed because of his non-actions...his fear. This job is not for everyone....it takes guts and most people can talk the talk....but when it comes time to walk the walk.....they run the other way.

WV has only played patsies. Their opp. combined record is 8-19. Three of those teams have only won 1 game. And in their first 4 games WV never got a sack. They are also ranked 34th in total defense. Very lame defensive stats against such inferior competition. Their offense is hot but defense wins championships

Thanks Jimmy....I've stepped in as a basketball ref and a football ref in scrimmage games....it was tough.....You start to understand how hard it is when it is up to you..to make the call...in a split second.. How many refs are on a NFL and a NCAA field compared to HS?

Nice thread idea.... I would like to add some questions?..... How are these responsibilities different than in NCAA and NFL football? Are there not more refs at those levels? Does that mean we are expecting too much from our HS refs?

I got your back Duece.. ..I am just not in awe of WV like many....especially when you consider that WV has yet to register a sack this season...... It is WV that should be very concerned about how they will stop the Cards video game stats if they can't pressure the likes of Hunter and Brian... Wv's strength is the run game and the Cards Defensive strength is the run game...something has got to give....I'll take our strength over their weakness...

It was a good game with breaks going for and against both teams. The muddy conditions slowed everyone down. Vic had 3 outstanding runs with Manual defenders in the right position to make the tackle....Vic made some outstanding moves...aided by the mud.... Coach Nichols had absolutely squat to do with that. He called the right defense...as Ram players were there to stop the play.....He called the right plays on the goalline also....the pass play was open and caught...just a shy short (according to the refs)...and the run play like mentioned went to X's weak side...but X defenders stepped up on that play.... I fail to see how Manual's coach made mistakes in this game. Passing the ball, and sweeps is what both teams started doing when the middle of the field became very muddy. Manual was successful with dive plays, before the rain took its toll, not sweeps. Coach Nichols adjusted to the weather conditions and called plays that gave his team the best shot to win.

I predicited Male by at least 3 TDs....but man....I never saw the shutout!...I thought Male was going to make a statement...

What about Letcher County Central High School's field? I heard they have an awesome field with a Jumbo-tron w/ instant replay, reserved backed seating, and microphoned refs?...anybody got pics of that one...sounds awesome...would love to see it...or at least the photos for now...

I bet many of you will keep Seneca's passing stats tonight just to spice up your comeback...I can't wait!.....I would be willing to bet my paycheck that those stats won't be anywhere close to 345....and I'm not much of a bettor.

I feel that Male has been a little over-looked by the local media...They have posted solid wins and started the season #1 in many polls. They have slipped and I don't know why. Their team speed is scary...and we all know that speed kills....I look for a statement game from Male....by at least 3 TDs.. The wing-T is fits right into Male's defensive scheme....
