  1. BTW: ****NCC still missing their starting kicker, but the back-up soccer player kicker was 7 for 7 on PATs. ****NCC had 4 defensive TDs. 2 fumble recoveries returned for TDs and 2 INTs returned for TDs.
  2. Yes, but in defense of coaches they do not get to see a lot of the teams they are ranking. So we do have an advantage in that regard.
  3. Once again teams just cannot elect to play up "if they wanted to". You must ask for a waiver to move up and you better have a good reason (such as no teams in your district in your class) or you will not be able to move. If NCC (or any of the other 2A teams) wanted to move up it would likely not be allowed since that would leave just a 3 teams district and the only place they could logically go would be to a 5A district that already has 5 teams.
  4. Dayton played the pass well and was able to do just enough on offense to put the game away. Ludlow had their shot with 2:53 left (with no Timeouts) but they threw into coverage and Dayton made a nice pick.
  5. Left the game with 7:35 to go in the second quarter. NCC was up 35-0.
  6. Not really much anyone can do about it. The 5A and 6A schools only get to play each other once basically since there are so many of them. The 2A schools plus Beechwood would normally be pretty competitve. If I were a 5A/6A school with 40-50 Frosh I don't think I would be interested in a game with a 2A school that might only have 15-20 kids. Likewise, the 2A schools would not benefit from games with 1A schools that might struggle to get 11 Frosh. The way it is set up now is about as good as its going to get.
  7. That does make it interesting now does it not?
  8. 164 posts for the Dayton / Ludlow game has to be a Bluegrasspreps record for these two schools.
  9. I'll take Ryle over Newport by a ton .......oh wait that really did happen. I'll take Covcath over Paris by a ton.....see what LCA did to Paris the next week. I'll take Simon Kenton over Ludlow.....see what SK did to Conner. Not even comparable.
  10. In the Holmes game Dayton's 3 TDs were set up by the return game. I believe the drives were all 30 yards and under. But it should be mentioned that Holmes had short fields all night too because of their return game and one of their scores was an 80 yard punt return.
  11. I wouldn't place the farm on Parr starting for Kues. There are other options. BTW, Bellevue placekicker is out too.
  12. Actually if someone were to file a lawsuit claiming that the "rule" is harming a player's chance to further their education via basketball that would get the attention immediately. Cite the slow pitch vs fast pitch case as evidence and it might be case closed.
  13. Maybe you should ask if the KY high school team could beat Colerain?
  14. I think you might see Parr at some point, but that might not be the first option.
  15. I assume Boys are not allowed to play in that time frame either?
  16. Well here you go: http://news.kypost.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070907/SPT0402/709070321/-1/BACK01
  17. Maybe, but LCA is fairly decent on offense and defense themselves. I always thought it would have been interesting last year if they had beat Raceland and faced NCC. The Raceland game was kind of a strange one. Add that to beating Beecwood the year before and you can see there have been some talented teams. Either way this should help both teams down the road.
  18. The poet knows that of which he speaks.
  19. Did I miss this on here? Thought is underway to up the enrollment figure cut-off so that more schools will qualify for the All-A tournment. Seems the number of teams has dipped slightly because of consolidation etc. so moving up the figure is the only way to get the number of teams up.
  20. It could be hypothetical or it could be probable. Show up Friday and find out.
  21. Would anyone's opinion of the game change if NCC is without their starting QB?
  22. I think the 7 PM start time and the lack of PATs hitting cars in the KFC parking lot with the new stadium design will distress the Birds to the point that the first quarter will be even. Highlands pulls ahead at the half, Dixie mounts a mini-rally in the second half, but the Birds win by 21. Have a funnel cake.
  23. I'll say this. If Lloyd wins by a significant margin then they are a legit contender in 2A. If LCA wins by a significant margin then they are a legit contender in 1A.
