I did not say he should not have been awarded Mr. Football. He is a great representative for the award. I did feel it helped that he was a UK recruited player.
I am scratching my head at his leaving Elder for Springboro. I obviously don't have any of the facts, but am confused as to why a successful coach would leave a GCL power like Elder for Springboro???????
I am sure if you asked Aaron, he would be honest to say he is not having the year he hoped to have. I think he is beginning to shoot the ball better, but Henry Clay's chemistry is not a balanced equation just yet.
My point is that this might the least amount of basketball talent in Kentucky for quite some time. The year 1976 comes to mind when Kentucky's Mr. Basketball (Dom Fucci)was not a college prospect.
Add Sam Gardner (Michigan State) to the list and that is now four players from Henry Clay who will be playing major college football next year. This is the reason I made the comment earlier on BGP on caught a bunch of flack over it from the Rock fans, that Henry Clay had more talent on the field than did Trinity. Trinity was a much better team on that night, but how many Trinity players are going D-I?
I don't mind your order of teams as much as the top ten players. Some suspensions are coming for Tates Creek and that will put them nearer the bottom, with Bryan Station moving up.
You are missing Matt Walls (Scott County) and Pete Gifford (Lafayette) who might both be top five in the 11th Region.
This thread can be shut down now. Brent Schaeffer has given Ole Miss his verbal commitment. Coach O is making some haul in Oxford.
Best of luck to Justin Burke at NC State!
Coincidently, Coach Letton's son was a freshman quarterback last year at Lexington Catholic. Recently, Catholic has started sophomore quarterbacks who get better each year (Neff, Doss, Burke). Wonder if Coach Letton will follow that plan with his son?
