  1. If he is the best shooting freshman in the state, I feel like I need to know more about him. Who/where is Alex Fornash?
  2. What do I hear bitterness in your post? That's your line from a previous post and it certainly fits here. Relax.....no one wants to take away your championships. It needs to be modified for one year and we are all offering alternatives. My alternative selfishly would like to see a championship in Lexington in 2006. UK does have a beautiful stadium, has a central location, and a nice field that is used 6 or 7 times a year. Never any mud, either. How about three Friday in Louisville and one Saturday in Lexington? How about two and two? "RockPride" is correct is saying the 4A championship should be in Louisville because of who plays that championship each year. Don't have a heart attack, "AllTell". No one is attempting to permanently steal your championships.
  3. My "team" doesn't have to be there for me to go and watch the games. And I would love to see Lexington Catholic play in the championship. Nice attempt at a cheap shot, but you missed here.
  4. No mention of Tyler Wilkerson of Lafayette. He is listed at 6'8" and is probably legit 6'7". He has to be on this list by size alone although his skills are surprisingly good for a kid who hasn't played much before this year.
  5. A 6'0" tight end in college? I have seen Ben play and I love his aggressiveness which would bode well at linebacker. Regardless, he is under "lengthed" at any collegiate position except the defensive backfield which speed eliminates him from playing.
  6. No bitterness here, but I would rather walk to Commonwealth Stadium than drive to Papa Johns Stadium. And I am not interested in any state final on Sunday to accommodate what appears to be a scheduling error. I have advocated for years for Lexington and especially UK to campaign for the high school football championships. Commonwealth is a beautiful stadium and six or seven games per year are played on this field. Why would UK care if their field was torn up in December?
  7. Well you won't be watching the state championships this year at Papa Johns Stadium because someone evidently dropped the ball on scheduling.
  8. Henry Clay will beat Scott County on Henry Clay's home floor! Preview to the district tournament.
  9. Papa Johns is one of the poorest designed stadiums I have ever been in. The exit aisles are about four feet wide. Talk about bottlenecks to get to your seat or to the concession stand at halftime. Commonwealth Stadium is as nice a venue as there is in the country. The field is beautiful but the caliber play on the field often is lacking! Louisville deserves to lose the state finals this year due to their scheduling negligence! Lexington will be a good host this year.
  10. I would have thought Ben Guidugli would be projected to be a college linebacker, but he mentions several times in the article that UC and Colorado talked of "working into the offense". What position will be play at UC?
  11. Accurate list from what I have seen this year!
  12. Don't ever discount a championship. South Laurel won it. That means they were the BEST team. If you want to talk about your favorite team, the team you liked watch the most, or the team that should have won it, start a thread to that effect. South Laurel was the BEST team in 2005! Championships that are cheapened are sour grapes.
  13. Why the sudden offensive explosion? Can't score 100 in a controlled half-court offense.
  14. 100 points.......I am impressed. Is this Pineville team that explosive? If so, I would like to see them play. What style of ball do they play on a regular basis? Full court pressure?
  15. I have not seen Highlands this year. After seeing them numerous times last year, it seemed they had some good young talent, but to develop into the kind of team they have become this year, I must admit I am a bit surprised. Hats of to the job Coach Schlarman has done for the Bluebird basketball program. It is obvious you Highlands folks have an outstanding coach although I sure I am not telling you anything you didn't already know. Big win over Station. I would have guessed their quickness would have bothered Highlands.
  16. The correct answer to the question is "YES". The probability of the correct answer coming true is "NILL".
  17. The potential of the 5th and 13th; and 4th and 10th is getting me excited already. The Sweet Sixteen is a magical time of year.
  18. I also think it is a credit to the University of Kentucky and Rich Brooks and staff to stand by this fine young man as he rehabs his knee. Coaches of lesser moral fiber might have considered Chris Cessna damaged goods and walked away from their scholarship offer.
  19. I thought this might be an interesting matchup. I feel it might be a good scheduling spot for Lafayette in that Scott County was coming off of playing in the Toyota Classic on three successive nights.
  20. Walls and Profitt are juniors and not in the running for Mr. Basketball in 2006.
